Considering the best 6A team in NKY struggled with Butler's speed I think the Lexington schools would pose a problem for them too. Either way though this district has to go through the remaining team of the super district first and then they have a date with NKY if they make it past Ballard and company first.

Bryan Station put up 41 on Highlands who is by far the best team in NKY

 

HC put up 49 on Boone

Some fun scores off of scoreboard tonight. Hancock Co. 41, Lexington Christian 57, Bryan Station 63, Ohio Co. 48 and Somerset 47. All 5 teams lost.

Would have loved to have watched that game! When you get that much offensive talent on the field at one time this will happen.

 

Game of the year. A game like that you dare not leave your seat over fear you will miss something.

 

As any of the old high school coaches that visit this board will attest to sometimes a game turns into a track meet and sometimes it turns into a slugfest (football or basketball). Has little to do with what you want to do, sometimes human nature just takes these games in one direction or another. Both teams want to control the tempo and pace but things don't always go the way you want them to.

 

As far as the NKY crack about defense(or lack there of). Dixie may have slowed them down ( though Highlands and Boone could not ) but these two tonight would have run through, around and over Simon Kenton. What was that Dixie - Simon Kenton score again?

When station Qb went out tide shifted..now 3 way tie for district and nky team will get a taste of Lexington with Lafayette in that bracket

The game looked like a track meet.

 

The statistics were staggering:

 

The two teams combined for over 1200 yards in total offense

Bryan Station quarterback threw for 300+ yards in the first half

Bryan Station quarterbacks Davis and Burton threw nine touchdown passes

Henry Clay's Joquise Buford ran for 334 yards and 8 touchdowns

There were 21 kickoffs in the game

Let's not forget that Henry Clay managed to put up 7 points against a healthy Belfry team to open the season.

In last night's game, Joquise Buford tied the all-time KHSAA rushing touchdown in a game record with 8 touchdowns.

If I were a fan of either team I would have said "WOW" twice after the game.

 

WOW that was fun.

WOW we can't win in the playoffs with that kind of defense.

I am not a big fan of these Hal Mumme like games. I would rather see a 21-17 type game anyway.

 

Both these teams are loaded with athletes, but you would think those athletes could play a little defense too, with just a little coaching.

Station's defense has been pretty good, but not great, in games against LexCath, St. X, and Scott County. These city rivalry games always get crazy in Lexington though.
