kings102876 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I would go with Schroers but NDA keeper is right there with her. Couple good young keepers at Highlands and NCC are not far behind.
neilman1234 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Courtney Hansel NDA Good goalie, but not as mobile as Schroers.
blind ref Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Not nky but Manual freshman Delayna Holman strongest I've seen.Comes out strong, has great feet (alternate forward), good hands, and plays agressive. Six goals scored against her this year in 15 games. However many games were split with senior Molly Schroring(SP). One to watch.

Curious what others think about teams that split games with their goalies? Highlands has done this all year also. I personally like to name a starter and stick with one for the game.
Sir! Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Curious what others think about teams that split games with their goalies? Highlands has done this all year also. I personally like to name a starter and stick with one for the game. As long as they are very close in talent, split their time. If one gets hurt or goes out (e.g., DOGSO-H) then you don't miss a beat. Post-season reassess if one gives you a particular advantage. It's not like field positions where if you get edged at one position you can still compete for several others. Now if one GK is clearly better, that's an other matter... but that is a call for the coaching staff... maybe in consultation with the team captains or starting backs.
imsays Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Teams with two quality keepers are very lucky. If you don't have a clear number one play both and keep them sharp. Keepers are one hard collision away from missing a number of matches. When CC keep had to sit out two game suspension it showed. I am amazed at all the quality keepers in NKY.
Z89 Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 When you guys or gals compare keepers do you just look at goals allowed, team wins, or saves when you don't get to watch them all year? How many times do keepers get this great keeper tag just because of goals allowed? If you put a "great" keeper on a team with a lesser defense do you still rate them great? No disrespect to Ludlow but if your put NDA's keeper on that team is she still the best and same goes for Ludlows keeper on NDA's team. Just asking. Thanks
MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 ...... What year are most of the top keepers in NKY? I feel like several of them are Sophomores and Juniors, but I could be wrong.
Clyde Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Courtney Hansel NDA Last name sounds familiar. Did she have an older sister who was a strong athlete at NDA?
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Clyde....you are thinkng of your favorite music group.......The Hanson Brothers..........M Bop.....
Jack of all Trades Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Last name sounds familiar. Did she have an older sister who was a strong athlete at NDA? Yes you are correct. Dad was/is a pretty good golfer.
Oldbird Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 ...... What year are most of the top keepers in NKY? I feel like several of them are Sophomores and Juniors, but I could be wrong. Hansel is a senior. Meg Martin at NCC is a Sophomore. Shannon Eaton at HHS is a Sophomore and Olivia McQueery at HHS (they share the job) is a Frosh. Without looking it up I don't know definitively what grade Schroers at Campbell County is in, but I would guess she is a Junior.
