Question...if you practice everyday on these rims...then the free throws have more of a chance to go in...you are used to the goals...just a thought to ponder.

Congrats to Coach O'Hearn, He was a hard-nosed player and that has carried over into his coaching.

Also congrats to Coach Humphrey. He will reach Rupp soon at Clark County.

 

On the tourney venue, it is up to the member schools to get the tourney moved. Until then quit whining and complaining. The gate revenues at the Fieldhouse will most likely keep it there for years to come.

Good point, but I never really gave that a thought a rim is a rim to me. It really hasn't been a problem for myself, if it was high school, an outdoor game, or in a men's league it seems to be all the same to me.

The goals are the same distance and the same size at all gyms, trust me on this one.

 

Clark Co. missed their free throws because they had poor free throw shooters at the line. The Jones kid is a terrible free throw shooter.

 

Mason Co. just had more guts in this one. I call it like I see it.

I agree with it being a great venue to host any high school tourney but you have to admit that home court advantage is worth something. No bus rides, your own locker room, just the comfort level alone is an advantage. GRC choked on the line I will admit but home court is an advantage in any sport. Would the outcome had been the same if the game had been played in Winchester? Who knows but logically you would have to say that GRC would have had an advantage. 3 point advantage???????????

I don't think anyone would say that Mason Co. does not benefit from hosting the tournament every year. The fact of the matter is there currently is no other facility in the region that can host the tournament. Complaining about a problem with no solution is a waste of time.

They are a very young team, with a Freshman point guard. Furthermore, they played most of the game without Turner, who is their second best player, best low block defender, only physical presence and the senior/inspirational leader.

I am not blaming the outcome of the game on the home court advantage. Did it play a role this year..yes. In recent years...no Mason by far had the best team in the region those years..

Clark needed to hit the free throws.

With Montgomery Co new gym then there will be another place to host the tourney.

I am in no way underminding the play of the Mason players...tell me where I said this. You will only see positive post about players from me...on any school.

You seem to be a very coordial and knowledgeable poster. I know you did not knock Mason County. I just don't want the 'homecourt advantage' thing to take away from a great game and great execution by Mason.

 

I am in favor of the Mason/Montgomery tournament rotation. If they can hold it. If the attendance (money) does not slip drastically and if it does not create undo hardships on the NKY teams. Those are all big ifs.

If Pendleton Co. had made their free throws the night before Clark would not have played against Mason PC would have.PC didn't make theirs on Fri.and Clark didn't make theirs of Sat.thats why they play the game.

Your correct Sports Mojo and I delivered that out in a previous message in the thread. Can't understand why I am still reading about home court advantage, but the ones posting are getting their 10 dollar memberships worth. Clark put it on Mason pretty good in the regular season, at one point had Mason down by 19. Come tournament time, the best team wins on any given night, regardless of the opponent in this sense of the arguement. Clark put it on Mason last month and didn't hear a word about home court advantage, but then they lose a game in the very same gym and then the sour grapes come out. Some posts are just down right comical. If Clark had won the championship, then those with any basketball knowledge whatsoever would say that Clark was the better team that night, wasn't the case this past Saturday night, Mason County was and that is why they are the Regional Champs.
