Mason County 62 Clark County 59

Can someone please provide the all tournament team.

Thanks

I stuck around for a while and the all-tourney team was not announced.

Darius had 22. Middleton had 18.

Congrats to all the teams in the region tournament and to Mason for their championship. See ya at Rupp on Thursday!

Historically, the tenth region has not had an official all-tournament team. Over the last three or four years they might have started it though.

Russ Middleton became a man tonight; pressed the action all night long by penetrating; got a lot of easy shots in the lane. Everyone stepped up. Miller had something like 22 points; Turner, while in foul trouble much of the night, had 5 big points before fouling out; Tyreese Scott had 10 points. The usual bugaboo - free throw shooting - was in Mason's favor tonight. All Clark had to do to win was hit 60 percent from the line.

Prof, it sounds like those grapes are a little sour.

Somebody is always going to have to travel. Makes sense to me for the most reasonably centrally located facility with the greatest capacity to host the tourney. What other venue is comparable in the 10th? This subject has been beaten to death on another thread.

CONGRATS ROYALS!!

Great game....

Call me crazy, but I think Middleton is a better "basketball" player than Miller, certainly during this tournament. Miller is great, and probably a better athlete with higher upside, but Middleton's stock is quickly rising. Impressed the entire tournament with him... Surely will be a top 5 player in region next season.....

When you dont hit FT's, you dont win. GRC didn't hit them when they needed them in the fourth....

Preston Knowles, I'll say it again, the POY is yours to lose next year. Keep your head on straight, and things will work out.....

Got a kick out of O'Hearn getting pumped on the sidelines, especially during the fourth, it was good stuff....

I'm going to go off on a soapbox here for a second, but I think the behavior of some students in student sections has gotten out of hand. Poor gesture by 2 or 3 of the GRC kids after the game was over. . There will always be a few bad apples in every section, it just makes the schools looks bad. I have been in my share of student sections during my time as a student, and there is a fine line between supporting your team and being an idiot. The behavior throughout the year of certain kids has been a joke in all honesty....

Mason-GRC should be ranked #1-2 in the 10th going into the preseason, dont be surprised to see them again next year.....

Finally want to thank the people in Maysville for treating me nicely, the McDonalds fries were a bit salty, but other than that, it was great....

Congrats to the Royals on a well earned region championship....

I think we saw 4 potential first-team 10th Region players tonight in Knowles, Jones, Miller and Middleton.

Why not? Every other region has a all-tournament team.

Freak, I'm in total agreement re. the behavior of student sections these days.

It wasn't that long ago that I got temporarily booted off BGP for SUGGESTING a cheer that I heard from a cheering section earlier this year. Some kids (and there are plenty of school officials watching, as a rule) definitely cross the line.

Too bad about the fries, just remember that NaCl was not originally a flavor enhancer, but a preservative...

Sounds like there were a lot of exciting regional finals across the Commonwealth tonight, but give me a 10th Region final at the Fieldhouse anytime.

Still waiting to hear from the usual cast of Royal supporters; I guess I'm the only one who doesn't have a life and am actually back home instead of out celebrating.

This one is especially sweet because it was so unexpected; most everyone (myself included) thought the Royals were at least a year away.

Big advantage to have the tournament on your home court every year. 3 points is a big deal when one team has to travel for nearly 2 hours while the other can rest and run over to the gym 20 minutes before the game.

This needs to be changed. Too many arguments about parking, seating, and money. Someone needs to consider the kids after a while.

What are they doing in the same region if they're 2 hours apart?

The 10th region, and the atmsophere that the fans bring, make it a ton of fun, hopefully I'll continue to be able to make it out to the semi's and finals every year....

Is it my imagination, or did Mason seem to play to the level of the competition all 3 games of this tourney?

Was actually behind Deming briefly in the 3rd quarter before pulling away to win by 15.

Had an 11-point lead against Brossart, but let them hang around all night long (by the way, Brossart will definitely be in the 10th Region mix next year).

Stepped up against Clark County; didn't crumble when Clark went up 7, then made big shots and free throws down the stretch.

It's not that far apart! It just seems like 2 hours after you lose a heartbreaker,

Congrats Royals hard work has now payed off.GRC,Wow what a great team you guys have and Knowles is something else. Most all coming back you should be ready again next year.Royals it feels so great again to be going back to Rupp:dancingpa .Miller and Middleton should be quite a show the next few years tough to handle. To the 10th region Fans wow what another great tourny we had with full houses for the games it was great,Thanks to all of you. These young Royals with only 1 senior just kept getting better and finally proved to be the the best team after all in the end in the 10th.I have some pics to follow in a few.

The schools are 61 miles apart; it takes me about an hour and 20 minutes without a lead foot.:walk:
