How many times has one of those teams kept SK from winning a title? I know of once, but the neers usually get "Marksberry'd" long before one of those teams are up.

In their defense, they are the Trinity/St.X/Male/Manual of their division.

I just get so tired of hearing about this excuse. If you were losing the them every year, it might be worth the discussion. But you're not. And if you were, I would ask, what are you doing to get over the hump? What changes are you making to be able to compete? Are you just okay with settling for a region trophy? Your enrollment numbers are right in line with almost all those schools and Male and Manual are public schools. So why do you settle for regional championships. I'm not knocking the progress SK has made. I think it's great. I really do! But with thinking like this, they will NEVER get over the hump. If they are hearing it at practice and at home that they can't compete with them and every fan feels the same way, they will never get there. That's the point that 99% of the people on here are trying to make when they talk about the schedule. No...great schedule does not equal good team. I get it. But...there is no doubt that SK is ready to start using their schedule to train their kids to compete at a much higher level. And I don't just mean "adding Highlands" next year. Thats one game. Now they are going to go thru another two years schedule where HHS is the only signature game and HHS is most likely going to be on down years.

But weren't they making it to them? Like I said, if SK was getting beat by the super district every year, then okay. But they aren't. You can't use the excuse that you can't win because of the super district when you aren't even making it far enough to know.

Coming from an SK fan, I agree. No offense to some of the teams that they have scheduled in the past and even on this years schedule, but they don't need to be on there. If you are truly trying to earn the respect not just of NKY but of the state, then you need to play the big boys in the regular season. Not just hope that you see them in the playoffs. Playing the top tier schools year in and year out is only going to be beneficial in the long run.
