What am I exaggerating? Did Powell run a 36 yd touchdown for their last score in the middle of the 4th qtr up 4tds? Or was I seeing and hearing things? I know I'm old (and so are you!), but I don't think I missed that. And I said, maybe they only do it against CC, I don't know. But I saw the same thing last year in the CC game. Just telling what I saw and asking the CC fans (many of them) if they felt the same way and they say they do. Not saying anything that isn't true or exaggerating. Just my and several CC fans (and apparently Raiderbird who was there) feel. Doesn't mean they are right or wrong. But that is my perception of how they get so many good stats, based on what I've seen. I just wouldn't trust their stats as being completely true. And again, just my opinion and I would say the same thing about any school that had starters in that late in the game up that much when the game was clearly over. People want people to come out and see SK play and we did. I saw a lot of things I liked, but I also saw things that showed me where they stand.

 

That score started the running clock and there were nearly 10 minutes left at that point. SK played their JV from that point on, while CC left in their starters. This was confirmed when I talked to a CC parent and a friend of yours at the JV game. He was wondering why CC didn't pull their starters when SK did.

After that score SK pulled the starters. The only games SK has played the starters the entire time was against Collins, Ryle and Boone.

 

They very well may have, but that was the middle of the 4th up 30 or 31 points with the ball. Why are they even in the game would be my question?

Dixie plays alot of their kids both ways it will be a long night for them.

 

It very well could be if they run out of gas. However, it's a big game and adrenaline and momentum can create energy. So if they keep it close or jump out in front, the fatigue can get offset.

Why should SK take it easy on division rivals?

Get some of their confidence turned around? Who knows? Because what I saw was a deflated team after they fumbled going in for the lead in the 3rd. The wheels fell off completely and maybe their staff felt they needed something to bring them back. Still does not help me understand why SK left their starters in during a game that was out of control at that point. But that's just my opinion. Do they have a goal to put running clocks on teams. Not sure why that matters. Stick the JV in and let them get some good experience. What better way to do so, CC left their starters in! Great experience for all that back up talent they have coming up.

To each his own. I have no problem with the starters being in the first possession of the 4th up 4 scores in a game that was a 3pt game at half.
