Too far away. :lol2: I don't know any of those kids at Belfry. I've seen these Garrard kids play football, baseball and basketball. I still don't even know where Belfry is.

 

I see my homey gchs_uk at basketball games from time to time. Just a good solid dude who is a great representative of Garrard County. He makes you like Garrard County and want to see them succeed. Stand up dude for sure.

I have noticed that your comments over the years always support our football team/program. We appreciate your attention to what is going on here.

 

It wasn't meant as an insult or compliment. I'm talking about here on BGP. I'm not even sure if there was even a Garrard County/Bourbon County Prediction thread. I congratulate every Garrard County victory and offer words of encouragement when I see Garrard County loses mainly because I really like gchs_uk9 a lot. I want to see Garrard County do well under Jerry Perry but how am I supposed to know that Garrard County has risen to the level of dominating Bourbon County if no one is on here saying "we're going to dominate Bourbon County when we play them?"

 

I get my football information from this forum. Best forum in the state for high school football. That's all I am saying. I bet this week Garrard County will get discussed a lot more.

The reason there wasn't much talk about the Garrard/Bourbon game was the last four games the score was a combined 119-16, so no matter what people say on here there still was some doubt in their mind they could win the game. The people of Garrard County should thank Chuck Smith for taking the Boyle County job because it would have been the same song and dance at Garrard this year if Coach Smith had stayed at Madison Central.

 

 

With that being said......the "hide and watch" mentality shouldn't come into play when you have a quality coach running your program. People need to realize most of the same kids are playing this year that played last year......the difference is they have a coach that knows how to coach and demands and gets the repect from the kids. I've watched most of these kids grow up and I'm so glad they are once again having fun playing football and becoming men.

I can't remember a better win for Garrard in recent years. Congratulations.

I thought Garrard was set to take a step back with Scenters going to Madison Central in the wake of a couple "disappointing" seasons where Garrard was clearly several steps behind Bourbon. Garrard has pleasantly surprised me and is a missed FG away from being undefeated. Coach Perry has done a fantastic job!

 

This season is starting to resemble 2011 a lot. A close loss to Danville in a game they could have won...a few games that the Final Score was a little closer than expected.. yet a string of wins to build momentum culminating with a matchup with Belfry in the Semi's.

 

Garrard is a team to keep a very close eye on.

John is 31-4 at Bourbon.

Two of those losses were in the semifinals to Belfry. Then this one to Garrard. Who is the other loss to?

I'll be honest and say that I would have expected Bourbon County to win this game. However, had folks from Garrard County told me they were going to win I definitely would have been listening.

Well - I would agree that the previous scores have a lot to do with it, but that cannot be laid all on the previous staff. I agree Garrard's staff is improved, but a lot of the improvement can also be attributed to the natural growth, strength, and maturity of players getting older. This is a a Junior dominated team, with some Sophomores and seniors contributing. Last year, they were a Sophomore dominated team, with a few Juniors and Seniors contributing.

 

Also, last year, the starting QB went out early in the game.

With Jerry Running the defense and his new OC, I believe is Aaron Stepp, there is two really good coaches and they have talent. Could make a nice run this year.

Nobody at Boyle should hold their breathe for any 'thanks' from Garrard on any sports related issues, if you know what I mean.

Garrard will make some noise in the playoffs this year. Garrard County will be scary good next year, I can't wait to see how they do in the same district as Boyle and Catholic!
