Louisville forward Montrezl Harrell was named a CBS Pre-Season 1st Team All-American. The entire 1st Team is made up of non-seniors.

 

 

1st Team:

 

G. Fred VanVleet - 5'11" Jr. Wichita State

G. Marcus Paige - 6'1" Jr. North Carolina

F. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson - 6'7" Soph. Arizona

F. Montrezl Harrell - 6'8" Jr. Louisville

C. Jahlil Okafor - 6'11" Fr. Duke

 

 

2nd Team:

 

G. Juwan Staten - 6'1" Sr. West Virginia

G. Chris LeVert - 6'7" Jr. Michigan

F. Terran Petteway - 6'6" Jr. Nebraska

F. Sam Dekker - 6'7" Jr. Wisconsin

C. Frank Kaminsky - 7'0 Sr. Wisconsin

 

 

3rd Team:

 

G. Tyus Jones - 6'1" Fr. Duke

G. Ron Baker - 6'3" Jr. Wichita State

F. Stanley Johnson - 6'6" Fr. Arizona

F. Georges Niang - 6'8" Jr. Iowa State

C. Karl Anthony-Towns - 6'11" Fr. Kentucky

Okafor is that good huh?

 

Man, I can't wait until basketball season!

 

It looks like they rank them by position. I expected Kaminsky to be on 1st Team instead of Okafor. I'm not saying I would rank them that way, but that's how I would have expected CBS to rank them.

Well he barely cracked the top 100 coming out of high school and now he's a preseason first team All-American so something's clearly going right.

Rick is the best in the country with guys like Montrezl IMO.

I don't remember where he was heading when he decided to re-open his recruitment but Kentucky was on his list and I was really hoping that UK would land him and was bummed that Louisville did. I enjoy watching him play.

Yeah. He decommitted when Tech fired Seth Greenberg... a foolish move for so many reasons. They're only now going to start recovering from that bad move now that they've hired Buzz.
