PurplePride92 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 According to Dion Waiters it is himself and Kyrie Irving. Dion Waiters of Cleveland Cavaliers says he, Kyrie Irving are NBA's best backcourt - ESPN
HammerTime Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Waiters is drunk. Nash and Lin. John Wall, Tuesday, in reaction to Waiters: “You gotta win a playoff game first before you can talk. You gotta be a starter first.” I love it...
Jumper_Dad Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Beal said that he and Wall were the best backcourt!
PurplePride92 Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 I'd take Curry and Klay over all of them.
JokersWild24 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I think Wall and Beal are up there. Mike Conley and Tony Allen are pretty underrated. They won't come up in these conversations but Allen can lock people down and Conley is a heck of a player. Steph Curry and whoever you put with him is going to be up there. You can make it Curry & Thompson, Curry & Igodala, whoever. That's probably going to be your best backcourt, IMO. Curry isn't a pure point, and it's maybe making a category mistake to talk about some team's best backcourt when there's not really a pure point in the mix, but I definitely wouldn't call Thompson or Iggy front court players before I'd call them backcourt players. The Thunder's 3 headed monster of Westbrook, Reggie Jackson, and Jeremy Lamb is going to do some things this season. If you consider Durant a guard, which I think he's just as much, if not more of than a forward, then it's no question that it's the best backcourt in the league.

Yep, they will never come up in these conversations and they should never come up in these conversations. This is the last time I will discuss those two with the words "best backcourt" being thrown around. 3. Iggy is a SF. Thompson is a guard and Curry is a guard. Together they are the starting backcourt for the Warriors. I don't care if Curry is a "pure point guard". "Pure point guards" is a bogus way of saying "a point guard who doesn't have the ability to average more than 15 points a game". Curry is THE PG for the Warriors no matter how you define it. He and Klay are sick together. That backcourt made Team USA this year. They are currently a better backcourt than Wall and Beal. 4. Durant is a SF. Could he be a guard? Sure. Just like Lebron could be guard. If we're going to play that game Lebron and KI are the best backcourt in the NBA and one of the top 5 backcourts ever. Reggie Jackson is garbage and makes worse decisions than Westbrook when on the floor. He can score and that's it. Jeremy Lamb needs to get on the court in order to be discussed. The Thunder backcourt is Russ and that's it right now. Sefalosha???? He plays more than Lamb.
PurplePride92 Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Nevermind, Sefalosha is on the Hawks now. :lol2:
Big Slick Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 1. Curry and Thompson 2. Wall and Beal 3. CP 3 and whoever?
BaseballIsLife Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Wall and Beal, Curry and Thompson, Lowry and Derozan, after that it's a drop off.
HammerTime Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Nevermind, Sefalosha is on the Hawks now. :lol2: And he sucks. :lol2:
MJAlltheWay24 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I don't know if Wall & Beal are the best just yet, but I think after this season, we might be able to crown them as such.

Getslow Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I'd take Curry and Klay over all of them. I really wish the rest of the pieces could come together for them in Oakland. I'd love to see them make one deep playoff run before they move the team across the bay. Curry and Thompson are an absolute pleasure to watch every time they take the floor. Either one of them is capable of unleashing a torrent of long-range scoring in any game. They're awesome.
JokersWild24 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I think you are underrating Mike Conley. Really one of the more underrated guys in the league right now. Curry might play PG for the Warriors, but can you imagine him in a 2 guard offense where he had someone else to create and distribute for him like a pure PG would? You have a lot more faith in an injury prone guy who has a lot left to prove than I do. Top 5 backcourt ever? That is more of a reach than saying Conley and Allen are underrated.
