September 28, 201412 yr Author If I'm Michigan or Florida I start thinking about 4.5 or 5 for Stoops but it's still a tad early. Stoops needs a signature win.. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets one or two this season.
September 28, 201412 yr Brady Hoke should be fired immediately for playing a kid with a concussion. If he knowingly did this, he should certainly be disciplined...but, as a fan of Michigan, I want him fired immediately for losing to Minnesota- at he Big House!

September 28, 201412 yr I told you he should've been fired last week. Disaster It costs Michigan $3 million to fire him before January 1. $2 million after that date. Hoke will be fired near New Year's Day, I bet.
September 28, 201412 yr Author Where did Hoke come from...I can't remember. Head coach of San Diego State and Ball State before Michigan.
September 28, 201412 yr You think Michigan is really going to take a coach that will have a losing record and only two seasons experience as a HC? I love what Stoops is doing but even they will have to explain that. Remember who Michigan wanted last time, Les Miles. Could be the time to get him while the SEC West is becoming so strong and he could be a savior at Michigan.
September 28, 201412 yr If I'm Michigan or Florida I start thinking about 4.5 or 5 for Stoops but it's still a tad early. Stoops needs a signature win.. He can coach. I'm sold on that and I was one of the biggest "is UK really serious about football?" Guys when they hired him. It's not always a clear cut win/lose thing. Instead, it's about doing the best with what you have. Stoops has proved that to me time and time again in his short stint at UK.

I love what Stoops is doing but even they will have to explain that. Remember who Michigan wanted last time, Les Miles. Could be the time to get him while the SEC West is becoming so strong and he could be a savior at Michigan. Les could be an option. He will be expensive- as will Harbaugh. Those guys are likely going to demand more than what Chalie Strong got from Texas. This puts them in the $6 million per year range. Stoops will be cheaper. Also, let's remember that Auburn hired Gene Chizik with one year of losing as a head coach under his belt. They, then, replaced him with Gus Malzahn- another coach without a ton of NCAA head coaching experience. We see major teams take a chance on coordinators without Head Coaching experience all the time- including the defending National Champs. Other high profile programs like Washington, Florida and Oregon have gone this route, recently. Stoops will be on the short list- guaranteed.
September 28, 201412 yr The big 10 is terrible. I bet Nebraska wishes they had not joined. In 5 years Rutgers will be winning Big 10 championships because everyone else sucks.
September 28, 201412 yr I think Michigan will wait until the end of the season... If they fire him any sooner than that... 1) they run the risk of interim catching lightning in a bottle and ripping off some wins...making it hard not to give him a shot at the job full-time. 2) pressure to name a coach will grow weekly...if #1 Target is Harbaugh, they have to wait until after the season to fire Hoke...just to take some pressure of of the hiring process time line. There will still be tons of speculation about Harbaugh but 5 to 7 weeks is better than almost 4 months if he is fired now. Because Harbaugh isn't going to pull a Petrino and leave in the middle of a NFL season.
