With all due respect, "No". If the CCH/HHS fans have been waiting to get in and there is a line, Dixie/NCC fans have to fall in line.

So, fans who want good seats for the second game will need to stand outside (in the rain?) to keep their spot in line instead of coming inside to watch the second half of a very good Dixie/NCC contest. Too bad.

 

I wonder how many people will actually get up and leave during the 2nd half of the 1st game to get in line for the second? This arrangement has the potential of taking away from the atmosphere of the 1st game.

 

Hopefully the Ryle coordinators will be kind enough to reserve some space for the Dixie/NCC players who may be delayed in their locker rooms but who will obviously want to watch the second game.

In short, No. However I do think that this was the game that showed these kids that they did belong with the elite of the region. Hopefully Highlands does not play as poorly as they did against Ludlow.

That is a very nice and well stated post. I know some CovCath fans that can't stand Highlands and I know some Highlands fans that can't stand CovCath, and for the life of me, I don't understand them. Both schools are actually very similar if you take away the all boys situation at CovCath. They are both very committed and very successful in academics and athletics. Sure I like beating them and they like beating us, but when we do lose to them, I can at least take a tiny bit of solace knowing that we got beat by one of the premier schools in the state and I have to think they feel the same way about us when we win.

 

That having been said, Go Birds-beat their brains out!

Do happy thoughts win basketball games? Ask Willie if he was happy with the teams efforts on Tuesday. I do not care what they won by, I expected them to win. I just would have liked for them to play better in preparation for tonights game and the finals on Saturday.

The game tonight will be 100 times different than their game with Ludlow. You cannot tell me that they didnt go into that expecting to blow them out. During timeouts the reserve guys were laughing, smiling, checking out the girls in the crowd... when starters came out they were smiling even when willie was fuming..... I just think sometimes you play down to your competition and that isnt taking anything away from Ludlow's effort because they played well.... it just means that when they meet their match tonight.. they will probably bring a better game, one equal if not better.

That is pretty much what I was trying to point out. They did not play as well as they are capable that is for sure. I would like nothing more than to be spending my Thursday afternoon at Rupp Arena.

If you can't get up and bring the "A" game in a regional game against CCH/HHS...then you don't deserve the jersey!
