Maybe a little bit. It's not a popular opinion, but Class 3A is the weakest of all classes and the top 8-10 teams in Class 1A are very good. Also, the Top 10 teams in Class 1A, 2A and 3A are probably pretty close in competition.

Agreed. I think Lawrence County was a little overvalued, but by the same token I'm not sure who below them needs to be ahead of them. Just a lot of questions in the bottom half of 3A's top 10.

South Warren is the #1 team.... No 1A team other than Mayfield would even stand a chance. Let's stop all the nonsense and hypotheticals. If you haven't seen them play, then you don't have a clue how good they really are!

That being said, here are my thoughts for 9/29.

 

Until South Warren plays somebody I still hesitate to put them in the top slot. I will go with:

 

1. Belfry

2. South Warren

3. Bourbon County

4. Corbin

5. Bell County

6. Central

7. Paducah-Tilghman

8. Mason County

9. Adair County

10. Garrard County

 

Outside looking in - Russell, Fleming County, Elizabethtown, Henry County.

It's actually sad how bad 3A is this year. Being a South Warren fan I understand you don't get to see top notch football. You ought to take a trip and watch some.

School is in its fifth year, fourth playing football. Had roughly a 3A enrollment for initial two years school existed, but rapid (and expected) growth quickly took them to much higher enrollment. They will be in 4A next year, but that is due to the KHSAA switching it up to use 4 years instead of 2, which utilized those first slightly leaner years. They will easily be the largest 4A school for the entirety of the next four years. They're a slam dunk for 5A by the time 2019 rolls around. My bet is they'll be around the middle of that class in enrollment by that time.
