Jim Schue Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Maybe it was shaking a little louder in other parts of the traditional SEC before today. As a conference, the Kentucky of the Big Ten winning on the road at a ranked SEC school is inexcusable. What say you, conference apologists? And if this game proves nothing else, it proves that cheering for the conference over your specific team is freakin' dumb.
Jumper_Dad Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I don't think anyone cheers for a conference OVER their own team...I enjoy watching SEC Football and all College Football.

75center Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Who cheers for conference over their particular team? I'm going to say that's never happened. Ever.
Jumper_Dad Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Was it inexcusable for Louisville to lose to the "Kentucky of the ACC" last week?
PurplePride92 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Was it inexcusable for Louisville to lose to the "Kentucky of the ACC" last week? Duke is the Kentucky of the ACC. Not Virginia.
LIPTON BASH Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Duke is the Kentucky of the ACC. Not Virginia. Duke has been good of late. Virginia hadn't won a conference game in 2 years. I like Dukes program right now.
Jumper_Dad Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Duke is the Kentucky of the ACC. Not Virginia. Not the last few seasons! Duke 4-0!!!
PurplePride92 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Duke has been good of late. Virginia hadn't won a conference game in 2 years. I like Dukes program right now. Me too. And I expect UK to where Duke is at in 2 years. Before Cutcliffe took over at Duke they were doody. Traditionally Duke and UK in football are a better parallell than UK/Virginia.
Jumper_Dad Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Cards are Lucky, Dukes not on their schedule this season!
PurplePride92 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Cards are Lucky, Dukes not on their schedule this season! I agree.
KY Thorobred Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 That ranked SEC school is AT BEST #8 in the conference. But it is disappointing that a school in the bottom half of the SEC lost to a school in the bottom half of the B1G.
LIPTON BASH Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Honesty except for maybe Georgia and South Carolina the SEC East is weak. The West is loaded and I don't think an east team could finish top 4 in that division.
Jumper_Dad Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 From a Big 10 area newspaper...written last week Embarrassing time for teams in the Big Ten Since 2010, the Big Ten has an 8-29 mark against ranked teams from the other power conferences, plus Notre Dame. The league’s last national championship came courtesy of OSU in 2002; it has won two Rose Bowls in that same time frame; went 0-5 in New Year’s Day bowl games in 2011, and 2-5 in bowl games a year ago. We could go on and on. That’s enough. Right now, the Big Ten has dipped to fifth best of the five power conferences. Don’t argue with me about the ACC. Its guts, like the Big Ten’s, may be a soft football wasteland, but it has Florida State and Clemson at the top, with Virginia Tech poised to reclaim lost turf. What does the Big Ten have? Not much. And it has no more chances, really, to change that perception. There are very few high-profile nonconference games remaining. Utah at Michigan? C’mon. Oops lost that one too!
