Hmmmm...I was at the Camp Co game last year and witnessed the game clearly in hand for SK and watched Kuntz still in the game and throwing 60yd passes downfield and actually throwing a TD pass after one of those long connections with about a minute left in the game. After witnessing that game, it was no wonder SK stats are so good. Not sure if that has changed this year, but I hope so.

 

Our staff would NEVER run up the score intentionally. Too much respect for their opponents...no matter who it is.

 

If your program didn't run the score up on other schools they may have not been given that nickname and other programs in NKY would have scheduled them. You mention respect, something you may need to check the definition to truly understand the meaning.

And again...just like in the Cooper thread...are you insinuating your opponent has no chance...because what that statement says to me is "come watch us blow out Camp Co and you will, even more, dread your matchup with us next year". Discounting Camp Co already are we? Respect. Trying to tell me what respect is. lol There is a reason that SK is becoming the school that when asked around NKY "who are you rooting for", NKY says "I'm rooting for whoever SK plays this week". And I can promise you that is not only coming from the HHS fans...as much as you'd like to think that was the truth!

 

And lastly, we in Ft Thomas think it's absolutely HILARIOUS that SK fans really have themselves believing we are worrying about a match-up next year against a team that is not in our division, is 1-25 against us and has NO significant wins in the last 4 years. HHS is scared of no one. Why would that change with SK? What would scare us? Please tell me that. What would scare us? What has SK done to make HHS worry? I'm sure you won't answer that. Should we be more scared of you than Elder??? Cov Cath? Bowling Green (playoffs)? Or any other team that we put on our schedule...well except, like you said, maybe a little more than Harrison and Holmes. But I'm not sure they will be on there next year due to the realignment.

Speaking of cupcakes, enjoy those game with Harrison County and Holmes. Isn't Harrison 0-5? Holmes 1-3?

 

And what happened to Cov Cath for next year? Every time there was a defense, all the SK fans said well HHS and Cov Cath are on the schedule for next year. Now they aren't? Is HHS even confirmed? Went ahead and scheduled HHS cause they are down and Cov Cath is up so leave them off? How convenient!

But the lack of taking a knee in no way makes his statement false. I've seen too many games in the past ten years when Highlands starters barely got as much playing time as the subs. They did not take a knee but even playing the subs 70 points was not a reach when the starters may put up 56 in the first half.

It was actually 1997 and the score was 76-0 and you don't ask your 2's and 3's to take a knee. You ask them to play as hard as they can. If the oppositions 1's aren't good enough to stop them, so be it. In those days, Dale pulled his starters at half. He learned his lesson after a CovCath loss when the starters had to play an entire game for the first time all year. After that, he would have them come out and play at least one series in the second half regardless of the score.

When did the score hit 70-0? After you answer that, tell me what you would do when the score got out of reach? Are you telling me the for an entire half, you would just kneel down? Are you telling me that he never substituted anyone and continued to throw down field with starters? Because unless the starters were in late in the game and they were throwing the ball down field, I'm not sure what you'd want a team to do. I and several others can tell you the many many times in blowouts, the starters have come out in street clothes in the second half. So I would find it hard to believe he was running up the score. Are you 100% sure that second and third teamers weren't in and just having the same success moving the ball? For a long time when HHS starting winning big, eveyone screamed he was running up the score and it took fire like the myth of bigfoot when in reality the fact was at that point in the HHS program, the second and third teamers were also VERY good and teams couldn't stop them. Would you like them to say "Hey sophomore Johnny, get in the game and take a knee would you?" Johnny says "but coach, this is my chance to get in the game".. Coach..."I don't care Johnny, it's SK. Now get in there and do what I tell you." Dale didn't make his 2nd and 3rd teamers take knees, thus the "running up the score" myth took hold! Now you know!
