Getting really excited for the game tomorrow night. Looks like a few people on here seem to think that Scott is going to come to Union and blow Cooper out. I hope that is not based on last week. Cooper was depleted and SK is for real!!! District play is when it all matters and I expect both teams to come out playing hard and think it will be very close. Good luck to both teams

 

I think most believe this will be a close game. Scott has only beaten Cooper once, and that was last year. Cooper is playing at home, and it's their homecoming, so Scott will need to start quickly, something they've only done once this year. Looking forward to being there.

I think that's what this game will come down to. And stopping them is one thing, preventing them from popping a big play is another. You can stop either guy a few times in a row, and then all the sudden they pop a big one. And their size and physicality wears down smaller teams. Cooper isn't real big. Coopers best chance of winning is forcing a turnover or two, and getting a couple quick early scores and then controlling the clock. If Scott goes up early and can just grind the running game, it's going to be a long night.

Had fun my brief time there as well . great to see the feeder team and middle school team keeping talent....

A lot of what they do is based on personnel. There is a whole series of passing plays in this offense, and it can be opened up. Unfortunately, they just haven't had the talent at the QB or receiver positions to throw the ball. I think they are a little better at those positions this year, and have had some success throwing the ball (along with a few failures). They like any team, will do what they do best. I completely agree they will need to throw the ball some, especially with Cooper and South Oldham (and later Mason County) on the schedule in the regular season, and if they want to make a deep run in the playoffs. They are also going to have to cut down on penalties. Things go downhill real quick in 3rd and long if you can't throw (although it's not really ideal even if you can throw). I think you'll see them work some more passing in, especially if the situation calls for it. To this point though, every game has been a blow out by the second half, and Woolley isn't a guy who's going to chuck the ball around when he's up big.

 

And no worries about Highlands or Cov Cath. They are in 4a next year, in a district with Harrison, Mason, Holmes, and Bourbon.

 

I forgot they were going 4A. That will work out great for Scott I think.

 

I agree with what you and Eagle have said about the passing game. I always liked Scott and really hope they find the QB for the future

 

I love the coaching philosophy and think with an air attack they can be fun to watch.

Both backs are super talented, but they also have not seen a Defense like Cooper's yet either. Will be an interesting battle to watch

They were one of the smallest 5A schools. Enrollment is down slightly and with Highlands petitioning to play up, Scott got moved down.

Harrison County, Bourbon County, Mason County, Holmes. Returning all but 3 or 4 key contributors. All the skill players are returning except for the fullback Eli Sowder and the tight end Ryan Seeney, and the entire O-Line except for Brenden Sebree. They could make a deep run next year.

I don't know much about those school. Do know though that Bourbon has been pretty darn good in 3A. That works out really well for Scott though. They should compete for the top seed in 4A every year.
