I wonder how FB Austin Hatfield from Belfry fits into this discussion?

 

As a true runner he may be the most unstoppable force behind Harris.

 

Definitely doesn't blow you over with his speed or athleticism, but he is by far the best FB in the state and an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses. What I think about when quantifying this statement I think what Running Backs you could plug onto any team in the State, against any competition, and they would still have the biggest impact.

Tyler Addesa Senior FB/LB is by far the most physical/strongest FB in the state. Addesa is athletic and has great football speed. Punishes defensive players. 43 carries...315 Yards...6 TDs...(7.3 Yards per carry). Not to mention also starts at OLB. Only can imagine what his numbers could be if he was a featured back like Brooks and others. Obviously, Harris is in a league of his own. You simply don't understand recruiting. That's a form letter, send out thousands of them. I have no clue how good a player Powell is, but don't get excited over that.

As someone else pointed, letter not very individualized. Other than kid's name at the top, nothing personal about the letter at all.

 

The jersey is nice, but I'm guessing Purdue has a Photoshopper (making up a word here) that does this for a ton of "recruiting" letters.

 

Huge difference between on-campus and in-home visits and coaches coming to watch games and ... getting a letter that many other players have duplicates of (other than name on the top).

 

I hope the kid plays D-I. Not many people can say that. Even D-II and D-III and even NAIA are still good.

 

But letters, in the big scheme of recruiting, mean as much as putting 100-plus yards and a couple TDs on an overmatched winless team.

He is not even in the Top 10 this year, but Jamale Carruthers from Bowling Green should be on the radar in the next 2 years. The sophomore has 1 start (against Owensboro - a Top 10 4A school) and amassed 336 yards on 26 carries and a new BG single game record, which is significant because until Wallace came to BG, BG was a running team primarily.

We tried to explain that to him last year when he was touting the entire senior class was getting DI looks etc. He just doesn't get it. My son got letters from DI schools, didn't get any offers, but he got letters and they all looked very similar to the one uk#1fan just posted. Just wait until his son is a JR in High School, he will be getting looks from 24 DI schools. Every letter or email is an offer according to some I believe.
