The lack of free throws or thr refs did not cause Corbin to lose this game. The lack of scoring did.

If it wasn't for Tate, Hamlin and Crawford, Corbin would have lost by 15 or 20.

Well, that's going out on a limb.........I would say you could take away 60% of anyones team and say the same. Some of your brilliant remarks amaze me sometimes Les.

Well, if you don't like it...don't read it, my friend...

Guess im rooting for South now:scared:

Never!!

South should win the region easily. I will be suprised if they win state this year though........

Heres hoping for a North/B'ville championship. It would be hard picking a team to pull for between South and Clay.........

He's right. Corbin went through extended scoreless stretches throughout the game. With the way they shot, they should've got beat by a bunch more. Clay just couldn't take advantage and put them away.

Nah, just think about it.......take away 3 of Clays top 5, 3 of Souths top 5, how good are they? Kind of a no brainer....

Take away three of South's or Clay's top five and they're still pretty good....it's called having more players than just three...a deep bench....etc equals a good team.

I would like to commend the effort of both teams; they laid it on the line and showed why they are top teams in the 13th region.

I think that a few of our users in this thread have forgotten that Josh Crawford is only a freshman, and have put some undo expectations on the kid. He played an outstanding game and exhibited skills that most his age don’t contain.

I was impressed with the play of Hamlin, Tate, and Cashen tonight. They played well in a pressure packed game. This was the second time I have seen Jones play and he continues to impress. He was the difference maker for the Tigers all night.

All in all I think that Corbin had a very solid game plan and seemed to execute it most of the night. They had a very good shot with under a minute to play that could have given them the lead. Most people felt that Clay would walk over the Redhounds tonight, and that wasn’t the case.

I have to disagree with you Les. If you take the top three players off of any team, especially in southeastern Kentucky, they will lose a lot, South Laurel included.

I would like to thank the Redhounds for their valiant effort in this game, and commend them on their season. Keep your heads up and work hard in the off-season.:thumb:

I have a hard time believing that they were outrebounded.

Stats from the Harlan Daily Enterprise:

Rebounds

Corbin - 27

Clay - 23

Shooting Pct.

Clay - 50%

Corbin - 35%(only hit 5-19 in the 4th quarter)

Turnovers

Clay - 7

Corbin - 10

Congratulations to Coach Gray and the Tigers on the victory.

A good season for the inexperienced Hounds who battled hard each and every night out. I look for them to have a very good season next year.

I think the 15th region refs r bad, !

AMEN to that.

I thought the officiating has been quite good. I hope you guys don't expect perfection. Two thumbs up to the stripes from the 15th.

I think it was a pretty even trade between the 13th and the 15th both have their traditions of excellence on the court. If the 13th was going to trade with the 15th then this was a good year to do so. With South being the heavy favorite " the breaks" should not decide the champion. Hopefully next year we can get the 12th or the 5th region to come to the region tournament in Corbin. I have always been impressed with the quality of both those regions officals.

I thought the game was called Ok, they were a few missed calls on BOTH sides, Corbin did not lose the game because of bad calls. The reason Clay had so many foul shots and even Corbin fans can tell you this, is because pound it inside to our big guys so much and they drawl the foul, Corbin did not do that. But I mean 8 of the foul shots came in the last minute, so you shouldnt just try to look at how many foul shots Clay took and try to assume they cheated..

Great Game Clay Co and Redhounds..

I think Crawford is a heck of a player is going to be something to watch in a couple years.
