Highlands 2 Campbell County 0

Really....excited for a loss??? I don't think they were excited about a 2-1 loss. Fans of the Birds may have been satisfied with the outcome but the players sure weren't happy and that's who it matters to most.

The players were happy to play toe to toe with ND

I am failing to understand what this has to do with the Campbell vs HHS game???? Don't try to minimize the Bluebirds performance against the Pandas. HHS had NDA on their heels and NDA scores a great goal with less than a minute left. They both had some missed chances. That game could have been 3-1 Highlands just as much as 3-1 NDA.

I am not minimizing their effort, just pointing out hypocrisy.

Congrats.

Wow, miss a few days miss a lot. This thread has gone from a soccer game on the field, to parents scrapping in the stands to stone throwing about the coaches. Has this been a problem for these two teams in the past or is this just an isolated incident?

I am sorry for asking this, but where was there ever a reference to the HHS coaches personal life in the prior posts to this thread? I thought we were talking about a soccer game between girls teams from Campbell County and Highlands.

I was very impressed with Campbell County. They have not been much of a threat in the last 10 or so years. I think it's great. The game was very physical and who knows what would have happened had they had the full 11 on the field?

What are thoughts about coaches getting a yellow card? I personally like coaches who are willing to fight for his or her team when an injustice is perceived. Not a fan of coaches who just stand or sit (in any sport) while the game/match is going on. There is a difference however of belittling a ref and asking constructive questions. Why does it seem like soccer is so intolerant of questioning a call or even having a crucial call (Carded call red or yellow) explained to both sides?

For the same reason there are differences between all sports. Its the way it is.

I'm not trying to be rude, but It would be no different than asking why basketball refs don't use flags to point direction of possession.

It doesn't help that while coaches may ask the right questions they do it in a completely inappropriate manner most of the time.

Arms in the air and yelling in a derogatory tone. At that point it doesn't matter how constructive the call was.

Also from what I've seen, some don't really care what the answer is, they just want it so they can disagree and tell the ref their wrong.

I realize not all coaches are this way but most soccer coaches don't show the self control needed to have an actual discussion. Plus, soccer doesn't stop nearly as much and having the conversation takes from play time.

The time issue I can see, however a simple explanation of what the ref saw would probably eliminate some of coaching and referee issues. Most times soccer refs won't even explain what happened during a card issue. A normal call needs no discussion. Communication could be better by both parties in most cases.

Congrats.

Whoever that is better have their house completely in order to bring stuff like that out on a message board. Ah Ft. Thomas, the place where you sneeze near the Armory and they say "Bless you" at the high school.

This... 10000 times.

This thread has unfortunately also gone completely off track.

Time to shut it down.

Hopefully the next Highlands girls soccer thread can focus on the players and the game.
