This Video Is Why the People In Ferguson Don't Care What the Police Report Says

Featured Replies

There is a complete misunderstanding of people that live in poverty and how they feel. Whether black, white, Native American, it doesn't matter, they do not trust authority, unless they feel they have a positive relationship with them and are treated fairly, not consistently. Those that cannot understand that they feel this way, really struggle with the actions they show when they feel they are fated.

Does that mean there actions are correct and fit the norm for a society, no, it doesn't and it also doesn't excuse them. However, until people quit judging them and not try to understand them, Ferguson's is what you get.

The absolute most important thing to be done is build relationships that treat them as valued citizens, not tolerate them. Keep paying them to stay segregated, so they won't bother you, which is what those that have do. We should give those schools in those communities more $$ or have charter schools to put them in, but don't let them go to school with my kid. Those in poverty understand what those are doing. In cities where there are lots of people living in close quarters, those people are generally black. If you don't get that, then you won't ever solve these issues.

It becomes racial at times, but it is socioeconomics by and large.

Generational poverty is real and a really tough nut to crack. Much different from situational poverty where many have been for whatever misfortune may cause it. You cannot solve their specific issues the same way.

Although I'm sure that the first several shots would have been fatal, and from what I've seen the officers were completely in shooting the suspect, didn't it seem like they kept shooting well after he was on the ground. I know they are trained to shoot to stop the threat but it looked like he already down. Adrenaline?

So did you guys not watch the video or did I mishear the shots that occurred when the suspect was rolling down the hill?

Someone is trying to make controversy where there is none. There is little doubt in my mind this is justified.

The police arrived and the man had his hands in his pockets. He removed them and had a knife in his hands. They told him to drop the knife. He walked towards them yelling "Kill me" or "shoot me". They told him to drop the knife again and he continued to walk towards them.

Look up the 21 foot rule. An average person can travel 21 feet in around 1.5 seconds. He appeared to be less than 10 feet away from police, approaching them, with a knife. What else would you expect them to do???

I hear that new studies are suggesting 30 feet to be the new ground needed. Which makes sense because they say it takes 1.5 seconds to react. If someone covers 21 feet in the time it takes you to react then you're probably getting stabbed as you shoot.

Under 4 miles away from the location Brown was shot. Apples and, well, apples...

Or apples and well suicide by cop......
