Another one I love to crank up is Proud Mary - Ike and Tina Turner.

True story...this song (along with "Joy to the World" by Three Dog Night) brought about the one and only occasion in which my mom witnessed my dad drop the f-bomb. They were talking to the guys in the band for their wedding reception, going over the setlist and what type of requests were likely, and my dad said, "You guys can play pretty much anything you want, but if I hear Proud Mary or Joy To The World, I'm not going to stinking pay you."

Love the early Petty stuff. Good call.

For "Kiss" I turn up both Prince AND Tom Jones.

"My Name Is Prince" is a big jammer for me.

Wouldn't it be great if he could halfways rap. Only real knock on Prince over the years is that he kept trying — possibly out of his own obsessiveness. This definitely his best effort at it.

"My name is Prince/And I am funky/When it comes to funk/I am a junkie"

Good thing the composition is so badass that you can get past the rap.

Absolutely this one. If I hear it while driving, count on me upping the pace about 10mph. They opened — I just knew they would, even though my cohorts didn't agree — with this when they warmed up KISS on the Freedom Hall date of the makeup reunion tour in '96. Magical night.

I'm voting for all high school football teams to dump that awful "Thunderstruck" abortion and use this one instead. Always gets me hyped.
