Mortality is anywhere from 50%-90%, and it appears the average mortality rate as a whole is about 60-70%. But statistically, since so very few actually get the virus (it's not easy to catch and transmission requires very specific circumstances), your chances of dying from it are close to no chance at all.

But in reality, even with that, there have been very few pandemics here in the US over the last 100 years or so, with AIDS being the worst of the bunch, and the only one where more than a few hundred or several thousand people have died. The US does a very good job of controlling infection and disease.

But to the bolded above, I'd hold off on that answer until we see what diseases crop back up that were once eradicated when and if the illegal alien situation in this country gets under control.

If the virus is deadly and unstoppable, why would we voluntarily bring it to the US? If you read a little more about the disease (and feel free to read sources outside of the US, so as not to have a "US government" slant to it), you'll find that the 90% mortality pertains to areas in which no medical care was given. You may also find that many burial practices lead to the spread of the disease. I'm glad that both of these American doctors will receive top notch treatment at Emory.
