Getting back on topic. Does anyone else find it humorous that Democrats are now going to Bill Clinton as someone to help their campaign?

I still remember when Clinton was on his way out of office, none of the democratic presidential hopefuls would use him during their campaign because he hurt the party so much and many thought he would do more harm than good for anyone's campaign.

Now with the embarrasment of Obama, democratic politicians now think Bill Clinton is a good Allie to their campaigns. I find that hilarious myself. So done who once was an embarrasment to the party now looks better than Obama lol.

Has this been confirmed or is it a rumor?

I think many Democrats realize they goofed up in 2000 not having Bill campaign for Al Gore. They were so worried his infidelity to Hillary would turn of the female vote, a vote the Dems need and that may have cost them the election for Gore.

Thank God.

Here is what I found out. 2 different sources:

After the morning event at the mansion — where tickets started at $200 and which included an operatic performance of “My Old Kentucky Home” — Clinton and the Grimes team hopped on a little private plane and flew to Hazard, in the coal country of Eastern Kentucky. They were met by more than 1,000 people. The crowd included some miners from the western part of the state who had been bused in by the United Mine Workers of America, which has endorsed Grimes. So many had turned out, in fact, that not everyone could make it into the auditorium.

“There’s room for chairs, but the fire marshal said no more people can come in,” campaign manager Jonathan Hurst says plaintively to the line snaking around the outside of the Hal Rogers Center.

More than 1,000 people lined up outside of the Forum in Hazard for a chance to meet former President Bill Clinton Wednesday afternoon, as he made two stops in Kentucky to endorse and campaign with U.S. Senate hopeful Alison Lundergan Grimes as part of the “Coal Country for Alison” tour. Grimes campaign officials said the line has started to for before 11 a.m. that day.

Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo was one of numerous speakers to take the stage before Grimes and Clinton. Former Governor Martha Layne Collins, Rep. Rocky Adkins, and Cecil Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA). The UMWA announced its endorsement of Grimes less than a week before the rally in Hazard, and brought two buses full of members to represent at the event.

Certainly not a smart move and one I never understood. I've always heard it was Gore who nixed using him.

Agreed.

It want just Gore who didn't want Clonton but all the dems vying for the nomination.

Who else was vying for the Dem Nomination? I was thinking it was almost handed to Gore?

Howard Dean, Bill Bradley, John Kerry etc. There were about 8 or so. Remember Dean was leading until his victory speech where he screamed lol.

Yea, none of them wanted Bill Clinton at any of their campaign stops.

Why would UMW support a person against coal. Grimes is a puppet for liberals and is only saying and disagreeing with the current establishment so she can get a few more votes.

Any sane or smart person would know she is a liar, she is a politician and lies come natural.
