Beechwood was great when Coach Yeagle was great. When Coach Yeagle started battling health issues the Tigers took a big step back.

 

Then Coach Rash came aboard and won a couple but it was largely still Coach Yeagle's program. After the dust settled from the coaching change the Tigers are MIA and this is including going from 4 classes to 6 and Newport Central Catholic being 2A. Both of those facts make it much easier for Coach Rash than it was for Coach Yeagle.

 

So you agree that the 1990's were the era of "your big brother's Tigers" and that the Tigers of Yeagle's last 6 seasons also were not part of "your big brother's Tigers".

 

As to it still being Yeagle's program when Rash won titles 2 and 3 years after Yeagle, there is no doubt that Yeagle's influence was in the program. Rash coached under Yeagle, has the utmost respect for him and was certainly influenced by him. Because of that, Yeagle's influence is still in the program today.

Could it be that programs that BW used to dominate have gotten better and become better programs. So not so much of a BW fall but more of others performing better?

This was my thought. Frankfort got over the hump last year, Mayfield came back to 1A and recovered from a short drop a while back and other teams around the stated have evened the field a little. Imagine what would have happened if NCC remained in 1A.

If not for Mayfield, I doubt we are having this conversation and all would be well in Tiger land. With the Cards departure, Bw should be able to return to their days of domination more years than not

Really? I was not aware of that. In public Coach Rash has high praise for Yeagle. He has brought Yeagle back to be recognized. I believe Yeagle also just got inducted into the Beechwood hall.

I keep hearing the same things over and over just worded differently

 

I recall the dynasty being over if they didn't win it, super frosh were the saviors of the program

 

 

Why is this year any more pivotal? It would seem to me that win or lose, they will be in a much easier place after this year and this year they seem to have it on paper but that is nothing new either as the famed super frosh laid an egg. I think Bw has had failure in coaching with Rash. Mf routinely comes out with 3Quarter adjustments and lays waste to the Tigers. So to go where they want this year I think the coaching staff needs to step up
