It was a great game and both teams did play their tails off. I dont think that Ryle held back as far as effort. CCH was a great team! Cole did have time to throw on occasions and their receivers were covered. Have to give credit where it is due. I know it was a hard pill to swallow but Ryle skill players were better, including their receivers, corners, and QB. I am not taking away from CCH players at all but our kids could have scored much more points if we would have used the entire playbook. CCH corners were giving about a 10-12 yard cushion on many of the formations and Ryle was content with running the football and the clock. Look at the film. It does not lie. I guess you are so knowledgeable that you are the authority on who knows football and who does not.

 

On that night it was a dead even game till the last few minutes- even then, in their last possession, if Best makes a catch on an RB screen he might have taken it to the house and won the game. I was there and did watch the film and that night, O'Hara (who I love as a kid and athlete) was sacked behind the line multiple times- while CVH went pretty much untouched. Didn't say un pressured - just untouched. Cole had a poor night by his standards and overthrew the seam pass multiple occasions.

Again, overall, I thought Ryle was the better Frosh team throughout the year- but to say they could have scored whatever they wanted to in that game is just stupid. Could be that Ryle didn't throw it as much because that not what Ryle did all year maybe? And maybe- just maybe- CCH made a lot of adjustments from the prior game? Yeah- that's probably it.

I'd like to see Ryle be competitive again. Takes the fun out of it when they are as down as they have been over the past 3-4 years.

It seems to me if you go back 4 years Ryle was far from down. The point is, it was recognized that the pool was dry and the Union Raiders were established, 5 years ago. That first group are now juniors and ready to take the program back to where it was a short time ago. Ryle will not be a favorite to win the district but if they claim 1st or 2nd, few people will be surprised.

You blue boys always slant the story in your favor, even in defeat. Pretty funny. Cole only completed a few passes that night because Ryle was better at the skills spots and covered their receivers. They were better.

Why? Why did they not throw the ball more? You are telling me they chose to have the game do down to the wire when they could have at any time chosen to throw the ball more and won easily. If that is true, fire your coach right now. If it was that obvious and easy and your coach chose not to throw the ball, then that is terrible.

He is a one heck of a coach, and has been coaching longer than most of us have been alive. I don't care who the man is coaching for, he has earned and deserves some respect. Dissing RYLE as usual is one thing. Making a personal statement or attack like that is out of line.
