She sure seemed to dominate the regional final last season.

9 of her 13 pts. in the 4th Q & OT. She dominated when she had to in this one for sure, it was an impressive effort.

Good luck to Alexus during her senior year - wherever it is!

I wouldn't count out NCC. Everyone is in love with Holy Cross, but but I watched a freshman point guard from Dixie almost take them to the matt in the regionals. NCC will still have a say in the region. Does anyone know if the girl from Dixie is stiil there. She really impressed that night.

Unfortunately for NCC, I think they will struggle with the lost of Kiernan. I even think with Mayes, they were going to be decent, but not great. Kiernan required so much attention last year, it freed others up for easy baskets...making them look better than they actually were. I also think they will miss Lewis more than some think. She was a work horse for them. But with Mayes gone now, I hate to say it, but I think they will struggle. I hope I'm wrong because Ware is one of my favorite players in the state to watch play this game. Absolutely love her game and is sucks that her senior season may be a struggle.

Hard to read through these scenarios, the girl from HC had to sit out last year after leaving Holmes and this girl seemingly will play after leaving NCC. It is just not consistent. I say just open up the transfers and let the schools wrangle with it.

Welcome to the Wild, Wild, West!!!

I would still put both HC and NDA over Holmes in the district.

Late to the party, but with Holmes also getting Hannah Tubbs from Norwood, I wouldn't be so sure about that pick.

Several people who follow girls hoops closer than myself said Tubbs will be the best player in the region this coming season and one of the top girls in the state.

Tubbs is very good. I wouldn't crown her the best in the region just yet, but one of the best for sure. It also makes Holmes a contender for sure...along with Highlands and HC. In my opinion, those are the top 3.

And this transfer is being allowed? Did they move from Cincinnati to Covington over the summer?

I have no idea. Someone in the "know" would have to answer that one.

Alexis Mayes would not be an issue. It is an economic move. From over $6000.00 a year to a free public education. That is a qualifying event in the KHSAA rules. She didn't show up at school last year until after school started and then her attendance was sketchy due to transportation and various issues from not living close enough to walk. She came from Holmes to play as part of the Lady Diamonds feeding program and I guess it was just time to go back home and play.

Not being able to afford tuition is not a listed reason for a waiver.

Not saying they will not take it into account but it's not one of the listed items.

I'm thinking that transportation issues from not living close enough to walk is not reason for a waiver either.

Whatever the reason, I hope that Alexus is happy at Holmes and everything works out for her there.

I was thinking the same thing. I could care less about the transfer. It really makes no difference to me. You could tell she wasn't happy at NCC by the end of last season. But those reasons are a little suspicious. Does she live close enough to Holmes to walk? I have no idea where she lives. But just by transferring back to Holmes, doesn't make the transportation issues go away unless she lives close. (which she may) And if they had paid $18K for the first 3 years, now they can't? And now Holmes is back on the basketball map with some nice young players and some key transfers and NCC (IMO) lost a lot with Kiernan leaving. It may be completely legit and I wish the best for her, but you have to admit there are a lot of coincidences and it appears a little fishy to those not connected to her. Not fishy from Holmes' side, just the reasons for the move.
