Getting rid of Ludwick and his salary, along with Bailey for a good bat in LF is the solution the Reds need for next year. Bruce will be Bruce again next year when he's not the focus of attention.

Sign Bailey long term and then trade him?

What would anyone want from the Cubs?

Rizzo, Arietta, Alcantara.

Bruce isn't having a stellar year, but...that isn't a trend with him. The trend I've seen for quite a while with Votto now is that the guy you're paying to get the big hits in big situations...doesn't. Not to say he doesn't get his licks in, and he doesn't get on base, but...when The Reds really need it, Votto comes up short. Just my opinion. I'm willing to wait it out a bit to see if Bruce continues on this path or this is just an anomaly of a year, which is my suspicion.

I'd be THRILLED to not ever see Heisey in left field again, though.

Well, I'll attempt to give it a stab. If MTGL's question was generic, or a fleece of the fans here on this site, I suppose my answer would be different. First, perhaps I give the fans on this site too much credit, however, I think we all know that Bruce will have long spells of awful, followed by long spells of outstanding. Over the course of the season it depends on which valley or peak he's on to determine the pulse of the fan base. Frankly, I'll wait until this season is over to pass judgement on him considering his value can't be judged on a steady line of consistency. His chart resembles an EKG.

As to the Votto bashing, considering his slope since his contract, how in the world can you not consider him :poop::poop: so far? Sure Bruce has stunk it up. I have a feeling his numbers by season's end won't look much different than they normally do. Perhaps injuries may make them slightly less.

To the question as to why Bruce gets a pass ... good question. I go back to Cincy's favorite whipping boy, Adam Dunn. Compare their careers up to age 27. At age 27, Dunn was in the process of completing his fourth 40 HR, 100 RBI season and being run out of town on a rail by virtually every Reds fan. Bruce meanwhile gets almost no grief.

Rizzo, Arietta, Alcantara.

Didnt he want to fight Chapman, im sure that will go over well.

I hope you're right, because if you are, his last two and a half months are going to be MONSTROUS!! This team could use that.

Ha, me too. But they are gonna be sellers, and that's a good thing, as bad as we don't want to say it.

I'm OK with being buyers or sellers but I want them to fully commit one way or another.

That's never gonna happen. Can we agree on that one?

Sadly yes...

^Along those lines, if they were sellers....I'd love to see what the prospect returns would look like if they were to part with say Cueto and Chapman.

I'd love to be privy to those phone conversations.

Perhaps the Reds could get Kemp for the pair. :)
