Mayfield, Beechwood, Frankfort, Hazard... Who else?

I would consider Williamsburg a Preseason Top 5 team as well. Considering what they have returning, which I do believe is basically everyone, I think they can be just as good, if not better than what the were last season.

Mayfield will be first until beaten by a 1A Team. Plain and simple.

What does Russellville have coming back?

 

As to Mayfield #2, no way. With what they have accomplished year after year over the past 5 or 6 years, they are #1 till they lose a 1A game on the field. They have proven it doesn't matter who they lose and who they have coming back, they are going to play for the title and most likely win it.

What does Russellville have coming back?

 

As to Mayfield #2, no way. With what they have accomplished year after year over the past 5 or 6 years, they are #1 till they lose a 1A game on the field. They have proven it doesn't matter who they lose and who they have coming back, they are going to play for the title and most likely win it.

I know Mayfield has lost 2 games in class 1A in the last 5 years but at this point, I simply have to put Beechwood #1 based on what Beechwood has coming back and Mayfield's youthfull bunch. In about 4 weeks after Mayfield's scrimmage I might put them #1 or even #4 depending on how the perform. If Mayfield's QB situation gets settled then it might be katy bar the door. Beechwood will be the home team through out the playoffs and that's a plus. Trust me at some point if I feel that Mayfield has that championship vibe going on , I will stress that point.

1. Mayfield - not because them being young in spots. I think they are the best defensive team in class A and rumor is they will be better than last year and that is scary. That will give the young guys on offense time to fit into their roles.

 

2. Frankfort - not going to under sale my Panthers. Return a ton of play makers of last years team. There could be a few bumps early as kid sadjust to some new coaches on staff. But come November they will travel to Beechwood expecting to win and that is half the battle when you play the Tigers.

 

2A. Beechwood - They return a lot of veterans and they are always well coached and play hard. They also will host Regional title game and that will give them an advantage. QB is a special player and have 2 running backs to go along with him.

 

4. Williamsburg - I think they are the best in the East based on how they perfromed last season and what they have returning.

 

5. Hazard - Should be back in the hunt from the east this year.

 

I will say the winner of Class A will be from the West again.

1. Mayfield- They are number 1 until beaten by a Class A team. LCA and Hazard are the only two in 5 years.

2. Frankfort- Finally got over the hump last year and beat Beechwood and I believe they do it again at Beechwood.

3. Beechwood-Several kids back and experience to go with it and tradition.

4 Williamsburg- Everyone back except a Qb but a few transfers should make this team hard to beat especially when 1 transfer was a very good back in class 5A last season.

5 Hazard- Brandon Jones is back and behind a senior line will pay off and returning some solid receivers and a Qb with a year of experience of the offense now.
