I don't see how anybody who was an adult living in this country during Carter's term could rate him any better than the 2nd worst president in history. All Americans felt the impact of the "misery index" during those years. Things were not much better under Johnson, Nixon, and Ford.

The last president to be impeached lied to a federal judge under oath during a deposition. No amount of revisionist history will change that fact.

Nobody forced Clinton to commit perjury. Paula Jones filed suit and a federal judge decided that she deserved her day in court.

 

The only reason that anybody ever heard of Monica Lewinsky was because the media decided to kill the story and a disgruntled reporter leaked the story to Matt Drudge. Clinton then made it into a bigger story than it should have been by sending his lackeys on the Sunday talk shows week after week to repeat the lies that he told to them and to demonize the women who accused him of sexual harassment and rape.

Compared to Obama? I certainly would. Both are/were criminals but at least Nixon had a coherent foreign policy. Neither one has/had a clue about the economy but Nixon did not actively demonize the private sector. Like I said, Nixon got what he deserved but Obama won't.

Probably because the only poll that ranks Obama in that list was from only 2 years into his presidency. Even George Bush was rated in the top 20 of one of the polls before things went REAL south.

DragonFire is correct. President Obama's No. 14 ranking is skewed by limited polling. I think, say, eight years from now the president will end up in the 15-20 range. He may have been a candidate for the top dozen had he not been the victim of an obstructionist Senate and House.

So your giving Johnson a pass on the whole little war in Southeast Asia? Funny how movies always show war protesters blaming Nixon, when that was LBJ's war all the way... well his and JFK's to be fair.

 

Forgot Johnson and yes he was bad. I think it was actually Eisenhower who was sending troops to observe Vietnam, so it may have been his war.
