Forgot Johnson and yes he was bad. I think it was actually Eisenhower who was sending troops to observe Vietnam, so it may have been his war.

It was LBJ's war. He was the one who escalated American involvement and tried to micromanage the war from Washington. He may have been the worst wartime president in American history.

 

Thanks to Johnson, our military won every major battle and still managed to lose the war. It was not unlike what has happened in Iraq and will likely happen when we abandon Afghanistan. However, LBJ's blundering resulted in far greater American casualties than we will suffer in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

This thread is why we need a third party option. It will never happen. Too much money and the economies of scale are too large. I would love for it to be called the 70 per centers and represent the actual middle and working classes. People who make up the work force and generally are the most affected by the 2 parties continual game of chicken.

Issue with third parties are that so far all have been so extreme that they can't get wider support across the country.

 

There needs to be a common sense party, but each has it's own hangups and can't admit that they could be wrong on them.

I wonder how all those pollsters would feel if President Romney was in office and we were about to ramp up for another round of intervention in Iraq? Government is so broken that the only way to deal with it is to prey upon the insecurities of the electorate.

President Barack Obama is the worst president since World War II, according to a plurality of voters in a new poll published Wednesday.

The Quinnipiac University survey found 33% of American voters named Obama as the worst while 28% named his predecessor, George W. Bush.

 

"Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel," Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in a statement.

 

Richard Nixon, whose presidency ended in scandal, received only 13% of the vote and Jimmy Carter scored 8%. None of the remaining eight presidents received more than 3%.
