Congratulations to the Colonels on a fantastic win tonight! Unfortunately I had to miss the game but listened to it later on the internet. Mark Wehry and Jason Elfers did a fine job of making me feel like I was there. CovCath has become the kind of team the 9th Region should feel proud to have represent them at the Sweet 16 this year. I take back anything that I said earlier in the season about them being too soft and I hope they continue with this type of TEAM play and go on to win the 9th Region Tourney next week at Ryle. The folks at Rupp need a dose of that CCH cheering section that made us so proud in 2004.:thumb:

Schult and D. Noll had one heck of a game. If CCH plays like they did tonight they will breeze through the tourney and go pretty far in the state tourney. . Jacobs, Bovard from CCH, Steenken from HC, Romes from Beechwood, and Hill and Avery from HHS were All-District team with Tierney as the MVP.

 

It was Henderson and not Avery that made the all-tourney team.

Props to Joe Landrum. He had a rough night against HC but hit 2 HUGE 3s during CCH's big run.

Jefferson got two tough calls that gave him his fourth and fifth fouls of the game and that really hurt.

 

Those were two tough calls and I'd be disappointed if I was DJ. However, lets give him some credit for handling it. He's been criticized on here for being too emotional but he handled it better than I probably would have.

 

Secondly, the game was over at that point so it had no impact on the outcome.

Holmes has one kid you have to worry about from the outside and that's Hill. He can score even if guarded.

After last night i would have to say that Austin is the most athletic and talented player in the 9th Region. He could drive on CCH and than he could hurt them from outside. He is something else. But a GREAT win for the Colonels. I know both the team and the Crazies can't wait to get that berth to Rupp.

CovCath also might be the top 3rd quarter team in the state if that can be measured. Has anyone else noticed that they always come out strong from halftime?

 

I have also noticed this pattern. This is a great tribute to Coach L. I had predicted that CovCath would come out in the second half and take care of business. WOW! Did they. Beating Holmes by 20 in the tourney is a great accomplishment. CovCath is definitely the best team in the 9th region right now.

I agree.. is it me or does he just look that much older than everyone on the floor? He is just a Jr.....next yr I predict he will average over 25 pts a game. Where was Edmonson last night? did he play?
