Which team does LeBron play for next season?

Featured Replies

I think this is a real possibility. They have some room to make it happen and Kobe may see this as his last chance to get another ring. I'm a Lakers fan but if James goes there, I'm no longer a fan. Can't support someone who thinks he is bigger than the game itself.

I'm no LBJ shill, but I don't see it. The guy takes a pay cut to win some rings, and he's bigger than the game itself?

People who think that money does not matter to multi-millionaire athletes amaze me. Even when players have taken pay cuts, it is generally to play in big TV markets where a championship season will earn them big endorsement deals to offset the dip in salaries. Money talks to most wealthy athletes the same that it talks to average Joes. The Pat Tillmans of this world are a rare breed.

I really don't know why you think he sees himself as being bigger than the game. Would you mind explaining? I'm asking because I genuinely wonder.

Personally, I see LeBron and think, "man, this guy has been under the microscope since middle school, and has done an admirable job of making the most of his talents where so many others have failed". Like mcpapa said, he took a pay cut to go to a good team and help them win championships.

I'm sure he regrets things like "The Decision" now, but there's not really anything he can do to take it back either. At the end of the day, if that is the worst thing he's done, then I'll see it as a huge success.

The "big 3" all take pay cuts and convince K. Love to come to Miami.

Hope they can play 4 on 5.

Sounds crazy but the Lakers could pull off Love and Lebron both. Highly doubtful but it's possible. I don't think many other teams could make it happen.

The Lakers are the only Western conference team I can see him ever considering just because it is the Lakers. Again, LeBron is not ultra-competitive, he needs more of a ring legacy, and he knows it is a cakewalk in the East with remotely any semblance of a roster. The Heat today are the betting favorites to win the NBA title. That is more of an indictment of the competition, but still.

Listening to Van Gundy this morning. He said outside of going for the Bucks or 76ers in the East, LeBron would make any other team in the Eastern conference the favorites to represent the conference. He is probably correct.

That makes sense but he will probably get beat in the Finals again if he plays it that way.

If Rose was healthy, Chicago with Noah would be a heck of a fit. If they could keep Gibson....wow.

Against the Spurs, maybe. But I also know with my Spurs it is a yearly coin flip if the nucleus will be remotely healthy. This was Manu's best season in five years. That is also assuming the Heat change nothing about their roster, which they will. He has conveyed his dissatisfaction with the lack of upgrades from this past off-season, per Stephen A. If he does not get the sense anything will change he could be out the door but I'm thinking they acquiesce. Getting there is half the battle and if you're in the east it's not a battle.

True...how many games would this Heat team have won without him? Would they have even made the playoffs? They might have been worse than the Cavs without LeBron.

FWIW I think he could get next seasons Sixers to the Finals as well.

They would not be that bad. Bosh can still ball, he is just not required to show it and is strictly a perimeter player in this scheme. I like Norris Cole, Birdman, Beasley when his head is straight, etc.

Nearly spit out my drink when I saw on twitter that LBJ had enrolled his kids at SVSM in Akron.

Wait... what?

Is it actually true?

I don't think that means as much as everyone else does. A lot of players and coaches have their home base in varying cities from where they play or coach. His family has not been in Miami every season he has played there. He still loves Akron (hates Cleveland) and keeps a house there.
