What the Wikipedia article fails to mention is that Col. West immediately reported the interrogation incident to his commander and surrendered his weapon. He knew that his decision might be a career ending one but has said that he acted to protect his men. West made no effort to cover-up the incident and accepted the consequences for his actions.

I am very well acquainted with Col. West's background. The fact that an Obama supporter would refer to any potential Republican candidate as a clown is quite amusing.

I can't think of a better ticket for the GOP than Scott "Mr. Charisma" Walker and Allen West.

The only one that has a chance at my vote is Senator Paul. Otherwise, I'll be casting a vote for the Libertarian nominee.

 

I consider myself a Libertarian Republican and I would consider a Libertarian Candidate but I have to be honest while I may agree with platform the candidates they produce are weak.

None of them excite me.

Certainly, liberal Democrats buy votes by handing out free benefits to low-information voters. They pander to groups of voters and don't waste time appealing to the reason of individual voters.

 

Hispanics are not a homogenous group and most liberals assume that granting amnesty to illegal aliens will be enough to buy their votes. Hispanics are not single issue voters. They came here to in search of a better life for their families and for themselves. I refuse to believe that they want to see this country transformed into another Mexico any more than I do. It is in their best interest for this country to have a strong economy and a country that does not protect its borders cannot prosper for long.

 

I believe that the way Democrats view its minority constituents is insulting and demeaning and that Republicans should be campaigning hard among all minority groups - not by bidding against Democrats for their votes, but selling the American dream. Many blacks and Hispanics are much more conservative than their voting records indicate but Republicans has done a poor job reaching out to them and asking for their votes. Maybe their answer will be "no" repeatedly, but people appreciate it when politicians actually campaign for their votes.

 

Instead of attacking conservatives within their own party and emulating Democrats with their "centrist" policies, the national GOP should be much more active in courting minority votes - not with liberal ideas but with conservative ones.

 

Furthermore, the GOP needs to be in constant campaign mode when recruiting voters and candidates to the party and not just when big elections loom near. Liberals have dominated the local governments of most major cities in this country, and residents of those cities should hear Republicans ask them repeatedly what do they have to show for their votes.

In 1964 the Republicans voted for the civil rights act by over 80%. The Democrats - less than 70%.

 

So something is not adding up here....

I consider myself a Libertarian Republican and I would consider a Libertarian Candidate but I have to be honest while I may agree with platform the candidates they produce are weak.

 

Weak as in no chance of winning the election? I agree. Only way that'll ever change is for those who truly support their platform to vote for them, and stop feeding the 2 party system with votes of the "lesser of two evils".

Well that's part of it the other part of it is I don't think Gary Johnson is very bright and not a good representative to push libertarian platform. Bad candidate. I was turned off of him watching the one show on fox news I record and watch "Red eye". Andy Levy one of the hosts and a libertarian tried to give Gary every opportunity to come off articulate and he just couldn't do it. I don't even fully believe he was 100% behind libertarian platform.
