June 4, 201412 yr J-town makes the list. Biggest "city" on the list as well. Lots of people think about coming over to crack a few houses in the ODJ but they come in off I-64, hit that Hurstbourne Lane traffic and just quit and go home.

June 4, 201412 yr Oh, well, I'm sure a 20-year-old survey still holds up well. I like Cincinnati, but it's a dump for the most part. If I'm not mistaken the Wall Street Journal or Forbes just released another list in the last year or so that had the Cincinnati area as the fastest growing (in terms of attractions/nightlife), most "happening" city in the country. I'll try to find the article.

I didn't arrive at that opinion without experience. When I lived in Covington, I looked for ways to avoid crossing the river.

I'll try to find the article. There's more to the equation than nightlife. Cincinnati is a massive pit of urban decay, and that is part of what shapes my opinion. I'm sure everything's peachy-keen out in the 'burbs, but the 'burbs don't make a city great.

Pretty darned nice. And I disagree with Covington being worse. I regularly walked through all of Covington's neighborhoods. Never felt unsafe like I do in some Cincy neighborhoods.

People stumbling around drunk and high at 10 am, people selling drugs on the corners, bums sleeping all over the place. Businesses leaving left & right.
