Cry me a river with all this talk........I can't believe that a high school player would get "rattled" by the opposing team saying some of the things I've read on here. I'm with CWB, folks need some thicker skin, you can't tell me every one of these players on both teams aren't talkin' trash about one another.......trust me they are, you just aren't hearing it.

I will add my 2 cents here. I wasn't at the game, but have been at many games over the years where I know exactly what she is saying.

 

There is a rule that players can not verbally root against an opponent and taunt etc. during a game. The players on the bench however may root for their teammates etc.

Again, I don't think any of the comments or noise had much, if any, of an impact on the kid.

Two very good teams play and only a couple posts have talked about the action on the field. Unfortunate. When you have teams the caliber of these two my guess is the chatter bothered the fans more than the players. Both will be fine as they move on.

Krumps appeared to have the team playing on back-to-back-to-back days as often as possible, thus using multiple starting pitchers often this season. Beechwood struggled in back-to-back-to-back situations in the regular season, and two of Dixie’s three losses were to decent teams on the third straight day of play. Point being, even though Beechwood, Conner and Dixie have similar/better winning percentages compared to the Colonels this year, they all played fewer games, had more off days and more evenly spread-out schedules. I've got my fingers crossed.

I agree Clyde. Losing Combs really hurts the Tigers as I think he is rounding out to be a stud on the hill. Perhaps Stringer is a starter instead of a closer?? From what I am reading he may need more time to warm up. And while the A state tournament is a ton of pressure, I bet Coach Mullins would trade that in for a 2014 9th region baseball championship.

HHS has some nice depth.

 

Of course, BW beat CCH a few years ago with a catcher pitching who hadn't hardly pitched the entire season so maybe pitching is overrated.

• 04/05-04/07: Win, Loss, Win

I don't really believe it matters as much at this point. One could lose the first game at regions just as well as the third game. It all depends on the match up and who with.
