Woman sentenced to death for being Christian

The Christian religion is not going to die because a few of them get killed in the Middle East.

It is more than a few. I'm shocked so many on here don't think it's a big deal. It may not have been had it been a few every year, but it is increasing all the time and is becoming more and more.

But that's ok, we will see what you think when Sharia Law is implemented in America and this goes on and you have family killed due to its ok according to the Koran

That will never happen in this country and it's patently absurd to suggest so. You really should stop with that one. Before our country came within the same time zone of something like that happening, people like Rockmom would be toting guns around to prevent it.

As far as your first statement, I have to ask if you propose to institute the draft, increase taxes about 400 percent and station troops in every country in the world? Because that's what it would take to "protect the poor, helpless Christians." Go ahead and run that one up a flagpole with your local congressman and see where it goes.

The Muslims in Africa (besides Northern Africa) and the ones in Slavic parts of Europe don't seem to be as anti Jewish as those in the Middle East. That may be because they don't deal with Israel like Middle Eastern Jews do. It seems similar with Jews and Muslims in the US. They really don't bother with each other. Two friends of mine are researchers at UofL, one in electrical engineering, the other in Physics. Both have several Jewish and Islamic coworkers as you can imagine. Those two groups get along fine. Who irritates their Jewish and Islamic fellow researchers are anti-science anti-evolutionists. I think most Jews and Muslims in the US are more worried about Evangelicals than each other.

I disagree on this assessment of America. Visit the Detroit and Dearborn area of Michigan. Muslims and Jewish people aren't that friendly to each other. It can be pretty tense. Dearborn has had some horrific stories on how the Muslim population which is a majority of the city has treated Jewish and christian people in the area.

Detroit area is great because of the melting pot of cultures and it is totally different than Kentucky in that aspect. It gives you great insight into relationships between ethnicities I never experienced in Kentucky.

Google sharia law in America and see what pops up. There are movement to get it implemented. If we can ban taco bars and camels for fear of hurting feelings, then it will be no problem to allow the Muslims to be ruled by their religious laws.

Also I'm not saying we have to help every poor Christian persecuted for their beliefs by that peaceful religion of Islam, but by gosh our leaders should condem and speak out about it. But instead all our president can do is say how proud he is for a guy to be gay and in nfl.

I googled this one instead:

Alabama Chief Justice Thinks The First Amendment Only Protects Christians

It happens on both sides. You have the fear of Sharia Law on onside and American Taliban on the other.

Get back to me when you can give some examples of a Christian religious leader imposing the death penalty on adulterers, sentencing rape victims to prison, or chopping off the hands of petty thieves.

Obviously, there are some nutty Christians in this country who would throw the Constitution to the wind, but except for a few tyrants at the top echelon of our federal government, this nation is still one governed by laws and not by people. It's not the Christians in this country who you need to fear, it is the corrupt secular government leaders who ignore the U.S. Constitution and duly enacted federal laws every day.

Practitioners of sharia law are the scum of the earth and to try to claim a moral equivalence between radical Islam and Christianity is deplorable.

Yep, those "nutty" Christians that throw the Constitution to the wind. Don't need to worry about them they are just the crazy uncle that everyone ignores. So somehow if the nutty Christian ignores the Constitution it's ok but if use secular person does it is deplorable. I'm confused. No I get it now. No Christian has ever violated the Constitution because it is the word of God.

I can't find anything to support this.

About 40% of the population is Arab American with the majority of those being Lebanese with a large percentage of those being Christian.

What does your intolerance of Christianity have to do with this topic? I challenged you to cite examples of Christian religious leaders imposing severe punishments on criminals, including amputation, mutilation, and death, and you declined the challenge. Every time a liberal attempts to excuse radical Islamic extemists' acts of intolerance and brutality by pretending that they are the moral equivalent of mainstream evangelical Christians, they advance the cause of radical Islam.

Here is another challenge. Make a list of every Christian theocracy in the world. I will make a list of all of the Islamic theocracies in the world. Then we can compare the lists and see which one is longer. :lol2:

Evil triumphs when good men (and good women) do nothing. Closing your eyes to Muslim atrocities and pretending that Christians are equally guilty of persecution is worse than doing nothing.

Maybe if they were killing her because she was from another country or she was gay or a was reporter for CNN it would be a Big News...but since it's because she won't convert from being a Christian to Muslim it's no big deal!

They can have all the movement they want, but the bottom line is there's no chance in hell of it actually being implemented here. In a country where people have grown up with great freedoms, the chance of us giving up those freedoms to institute some religious theocracy is about as good as me hitting the lottery 10 times. Can't put toothpaste back into a tube.

The only way Sha'ria Law gets implemented in the US is if we are invaded and taken over by a Muslim country. Do you really, truly think that is going to happen? Be honest and quit speaking in outrageous hyperbole that has no chance of coming to reality.

Are we talking historically or currently. Historically, there is a long list of similar activities from the Pequot Wars to the Inquisition to the Hougonants. (sp?)

I've got to ask, why do you label someone as intolerant of Christianity when it seems the person is just engaging in debate from a view point that is different than your own.

See below …

To be fair, people are killing each other right and left in the Islamic world. It's just not news.

The first openly gay player in the NFL is big news, whether you want to stick your head in the sand about it or not.

You ready to take action on this one? "Take the fight to the terrorists?"

I said nothing about history. Christians are being slaughtered by Muslims around the world today and I don't think that most of the killings involve a revenge motive dating to the Crusades. Do you?

As for religious intolerance, it is my opinion that people who refer to Evangelical Christians as the "American Taliban" are religiously intolerant. If you disagree, then that is your right as an American. Nobody is going to flog you for doing so in this country.

They have invaded us. Politically they have people in place that little by little get things pushed through or keel trying and eventually it happens. Don't ever think it can't happen.
