This is just AAU basketball.. You have to find what makes you happy... The cost to play with TheVille2015 & Travelers are the same (which is really only hotel cost for parents).. He is doing what makes him Happy, get to work out with a former UofL big man to refine his game. Plus TheVille2015 relies on scoring from all positions (very good team play) plus the level of competition is really no different than EYBL (people would be surprised).. Being happy playing basketball at the high school level is important as it drives his desire at the next level. Spaulding has a great future in front of him no matter where he plays.

Word up.

To echo those thoughts, the best AAU teams are those who play well together and share the basketball. The Ville most definitely does that and Raymond can continue to serve as a rim protector for them on defense.

At the end of the day it's about playing with a team you enjoy playing with. Multiple players have joined our program since the start of the season in July (at all levels) and all have said they enjoy this program more than their last. With July looming, player movement will be fast and furious.

Spaulding played very little with the Travelers. Didn't go to Sacramento due to ankle injury, played in Dallas, and only played 2 games in Hampton due to turned ankle. He did not go to MN evidently because he quit. Really didn't play enough with them to have a legitimate complaint.

He didn't go to Mn because his ankle was still in pain and we also had a death in the family.

So if your son started with a team and played 50% - 70% of a season and came to you and said he was UNHAPPY, would you:

1) Listen to his concerns and make sure you teach him about commitment and loyalty. Are you going to teach him sometimes in life it's not easy however you need to make the best of it. You don't quit. Finish what you started and next year we will re-evaluate what team is the best fit. OR

2) teach him to run just because things aren't going your way?

Now, if the Travelers coaches or players are mis-treating him none of this matters and you leave the team. That's not what's happening here.

Whereas I think this is pretty deep for this argument, as it is AAU ball, I do see where you're coming from. And, I do not necessarily disagree with you. However, in this specific case, there is no next year. This is it for Spalding, correct? So, tough to make that statement to your kid.

Spalding was invited to the NBA Top 100 camp and also the reebok breakout camp.

Haven't seen Trinity play as much as my Dad had, but of their kids he was always impressed with was Levitch. Got to see him this year and could see why.

He was a good sixth man for them.

Yep. Plenty of coaches would love to have a sixth man that talented. If you don't respect his shot, he'll make you pay, and it opens up so much for everyone else.

@SteveJones_CJ: I don't if he was invited and didn't go or if he just wasn't invited, but I don't understand how Spalding isn't in some of these elite camps
