I am trying my best to believe in Wall but he makes it difficult to do sometimes. I am still not sure I have fully bought in to him being a top flight PG.

He's not, he's as good as he can be without improving his jumper. Holding him back big time.

He has played like it all season but is showing how green he is in the playoffs. Him and Beal both have looked rattled, but since it is the first playoff trip for both of them I am hoping that has something to do with their struggles.

He improved his shooting in the regular season, 35.1 on 3's and 43.3 overall, but seems to have lost his confidence lately. He needs to continue improving in that area.

Yeah he actually shot the ball pretty well from mid range and deep this season compared to what he had been doing. If he just keeps progressing at that level he will be okay. He at least got to the point where teams weren't sagging him in the lane the way they do Rondo, but not the case in this Pacers series. They are begging him to shoot and he hasn't gave them a reason not too, as improved as his shot has been this season I am hoping the playoff circumstances can be blamed for his regression. I think he will continue to shoot better as his career progresses, he has shown the ability to work on weak aspects of his game and improve them.

Two words: Kevin Durant....Now, not happening for 2015, but save up the cap space and make it happen for 2016.

He is from the DC area isn't he?

Believe so, and I believe Wall has already been "recruiting" him to come there.

I only read the first sentence of your post.

How am I underestimating his commitment to win if I am suggesting he move on to a better team that has his former college teammate on it?

Because I think Cousins is a guy with TONS of personal pride and won't be someone like Eddy Curry who just goes and cashes game checks.

IMO, If he ever leaves Sacramento, you can bet your bottom dollar that the loyalty factor of them being the first team to give him his big break(s) will cross his mind.

He seems like too loyal of a guy to just bail on Sacramaento for a better team with little thought otherwise. He's an alpha personality for sure, and is as competitive as they come. He'll want to win on a team because he's the center piece, not because he joined up with some comparable talent.

Excellent analysis dolomite.

Only part I might disagree with is Ariza taking the midlevel exception. No way he takes that, as great for the Wiz as it may be if he did.

He is from DC, but I think he's pretty committed to Oklahoma. He's a guy who announced his resigning with a tweet that more or less said, "just resigned with Oklahoma City, Go Thunder!". Not really a guy that all the hype and fan fare will get to.

Even if he did get to DC, I really wonder if he and Wall would coexist as well as they should.

EDIT: Dang, I'm late on these posts. I've been reading and replying to them in order, but everyone else has beat me. I should probably just start reading the threads, then replying.

That's why I said I'm not sure he would take it but I would at least try if I were them. But yeah Ariza is going to get paid, probably 7-8 million range.

I am sorry, but I would not want Cousins within 100 miles of my team. He is as talented as they come, but also as volatile as they come. Trying to accommodate his disorder - and I genuinely believes he has one - by coddling him with Wall by his side does not seem like the anecdote to winning on or off the court. I question both guys' intangibles, but especially Cousins.

The Pistons will probably do a sign and trade with Greg Monroe but you can only hope they let him walk.

Yeah I could see where a Monroe/Ariza sign and trade swap could benefit both parties. Pistons can move Josh Smith to the 4, have Ariza as the 3, KCP at the 2. Even if the Wiz bring Gortat back they still need bodies down low, I like a Monroe, Gortat, Nene rotation.

I also like a Monroe, Nene, Patterson rotation more but that is just getting my hopes up.

I'll always feel like that if Cousins could have landed on a team that had an older, well respected veteran on it for him to learn from then he wouldn't have issues. He's never been on a team with a mentor and he needs a mentor IMO.

I'd take him on LA with Kobe in LA in a heartbeat.

Eddy Curry is a horrible example. He's never been as good as Cousins.

I hear what you are saying but I still feel like if Sacramento sucks next year then Cousins will either leave or be traded. I don't think his loyalty will make a difference. Especially if they are still losing.

This I agree with in needing a mentor. Or stable front office voice like a Pat Riley. I have never felt he needs to be the center piece of a team.
