I'm so glad that my son graduated high school and is on to college baseball. This type of drama makes me throw up in my mouth. Quit all the emotional crap and talk baseball. Seriously... you all are like a bunch of old women.

Baseball is a great game. Enjoy it!!

Most of us aren't as dramatic.

Read post #1 you might be a little dramatic, just a little.

Trinity, Anderson (OH), LaSalle (GCL), Tates Creek, LCA. If I am scheduling these teams why on earth would I be afraid of Cooper? I am sorry the game was canceled. I was planning on going myself. But afraid of playing anyone? Hardly. Accept what happened and move on.

Like someone said in the thread, head to theBoone Ryle game should be a good one...

With weather like today there is no such thing as a bad baseball game......just some better than others. Any game will do. As I write this the context is about the weather, not the quality of the Boone/Ryle game. The BGP is a little sensitive today and I do not want a thread started saying that a BW fan trashes Boone and Ryle baseball.

Oh, you mean in post #1 where it said this?

"This was mainly in frustration. Cooper has only played 4 games in almost the last 3 weeks. 19 days and counting. Getting tired of teams cancelling against Cooper, pretty dang frustrating."

Big difference.

Stay Classy History.

Says the guy who said Beechwood was "scared" ... ha, ha

Sometimes, as a coach, you make a decision that you feel is best for your team and the health of your program. Moving forward ... we can make sure Coach Mullins contacts you for your coaching insight.

I love it ... you have a program that decides to put the health of their team in front physically wearing your team down ... and next thing you know ... they are "scared" ...

Pretty sure you are the one that needs to "stay classy"

Leave it to you to not read what was actually posted. Not surprising though.

Now to talk about some of the points you brought up.

First PLEASE!!!! LOL worried about the health of the players. It's not like we were asking them to climb Mt Everest, it's a baseball game.

Seriously? Why is it that you have been blasted in this thread ... with just a very small minority of exceptions .. yet I am the one who didn't read your post?

I think the problem is ... I did read your post. And your "frustration" does not outweigh a coaches decision to do what is best for his program. I have zero issues calling it a forfeit .. and I would bet money Coach Mullins would share that opinion.

Now we are comparing high school baseball to climbing Mt. Everest? Sounds pretty dramatic to me ....

I get where you are at (coaching track for a while really helps me understand) ... but would you support the move if the situation was reversed? Who should we trust in matters that regard the health of Beechwood players? You (maybe if your Mt. Everest analogy was in the neighborhood of being true) ... or the coach who is with them everyday?

I'm a Cooper fan and I really just like reading anymore for the humor in most threads.... But, there is no way Beechwood is scared of anyone and Hellbird knows this but is just frustrated by his coach not picking up games when others have cancelled plus the rain outs.

I don't blame Beechwood for cancelling if the coach feels that is what he wants to do but there is no way I feel the "health" of the players are an issue when these same kids play nearly everyday of the week plus multiple double headers in their select summer season.

Congrats to Beechwood on winning the all A and I'm sure all involved there deserve to have a day off to reflect on their accomplishment.

Hopefully the weather stays good and Cooper can get some games in as I still would like to get out to see them play.

Other than worrying about over-working pitchers, there is definitely no health concerns. As mentioned, many of these kids play 65+ games over the summer and then also play fall ball.

So, definitely don't use a tired pitcher... But maybe get a couple of older and talented JV pitchers some varsity game experience... That would be better than a forfeit anyway.

The only issue I have with your post that I replied to was the health concern. Come on now, really? Health concern? What exactly is the concern with the players health you speak of? If they are that fragile then maybe they shouldn't play baseball in the first place.

As I said, if it is rest they need then why have them out there yesterday practicing? Didn't seem to be a health concern to me.

No practice for the Beechies yesterday. A well deserved day off!

Had a Cooper Parent who didn't get word that the game was cancelled who showed up at BW and said they were on the fireld practicing. Could have been JV I would assume.

Freshman practicing. Believe Beechwood JV played Cooper JV at Cooper yesterday.

Now they are fragile .... come on ... really? And they shouldn't play baseball?

I understand that baseball isn't the most physically demanding sport in the world ... but now they are "fragile" and "maybe they shouldn't play baseball in the first place"

We obviously disagree ... no problem there. I will never understand why a coach decides that the team that he is responsible for needs a day off ... and it gives you a license to say that the kids are "scared", "fragile" and that "maybe they shouldn't play baseball in the first place".

I must be getting old or something ... that was there second day off this season that I can recall .. nearly all of those kids have been going hard since Christmas break or the dead period (not necessarily just for baseball). There is an accumulation effect in their somewhere.

We can agree to disagree ... but I have a pretty good feeling that the Coach made a great decision.
