Ludlow 48 Lloyd 42

Featured Replies

The juggs played a heck of a ballgame last night just came up a little short. King really hurt them in the first half and Pennick got his as everyone knew he would. Lloyd just didn't hit any shots in the second half, which is a credit to the Panthers and fatigue on Lloyd's part. I thought it was a hard fought game and wished the outcome was different. As for the officiating it they weren't bad for the most part, mid-way through the 4th it seemed Ludlow got the close ones and Lloyd didn't. It wasn't a determining factor, but you like to see consistency. I think lloyd was playing on fumes in the 4th, and johnson played hurt the whole game getting injured ealry in the 1st. My hats off to Lloyd for over coming a lot of adversity that faced that group this season. Irresponsible kids quitting and getting kicked off the team really made this a tough year for that group. Hats off to the coaching staff as well for doing the best they could under those circumstances. Congratulations on a hard fought game, and look forward to next season.

As for the student section, that was the biggest group I have seen for Lloyd all season. I am not an advocate of obscene gestures or anything of that nature, but if you don't like what they are saying don't pay attention. Watch the game. When you atart focusing on what they are saying then you might get upset. They were chearing back and forth with the Ludlow students and seem to be into the game. No one mentions the fact that the Ludlow cheerleaders were basically in Lloyd's huddle during the Girls and Boys games. The coaches had to go tell the officials to keep them away from the huddles. Sometimes kids will be kids and they are having a good time. THey shouldn't curse or make obscene gestures. Maybe Lloyd administrators weren't there, so the host school has to keep that in check.

Come on! You think the little kids in attendance don't pay attention to what the big kids do or say? The host school has no responsibilty for the behavior of visiting fans. Go to any Covcath or Highlands game(home or away) and I bet there is an administrator standing right in front of their student section the whole time. If Lloyd's adminstrators can't find the time to attend varsity athletic events, then they should find time to pursue new careers :fire:

:thumb: Great Post!

:thumb: That is the second time now this year atleast when Ludlow has played them that Lloyd student section acted like that. I would have thought that maybe that problem would have been addresed by now, but I guess not.[/QUOTe

I haven't heard any other schools on here get upset about the Lloyd student section. Maybe the Ludlow faithful are more sensitive that everyone else.

I havent' seen them this season, but in the past the Lloyd cheering section has been one of the more obnoxious/inappropriate ones... I am not from Ludlow.. now you have...

I will not disagree that inappropriate behavior should be addressed. I don't know what the Lloyd administration is doing that they can't go on the road to games. You are comparing Lloyd to Cov Cath and Highlands kids, not a fair comparision. Like I said I am not an advocate of people being foolish, but this post has turned into flat out bashing on Lloyd people. The generalization of a whole school and community is classless based on what about 30 students are chanting. I'm sure the parents of these student athletes who travel all over NKY to watch their kids would love the be considered classless. I forgot Ludlow was Mayberry and is full of angels!!! Pot calling the kettle!!! We have lost focus on the terrific ballgame that happened last night. Taking away from the recognition these players deserve from both sides.

I am from Park Hills and I have heard from a few people about Lloyd's cheering section being vulgar. Now you have 3 schools including espnguy and myself.

I was comparing administrations. HHS played Belleview last night at Belleview. HHS student section was full. Great outfits, funny cheers, all that includes being a student section, including the principal in suit and tie, standing in front of them the entire game. That is part of his job as an administrator at HHS, that job should no be no different at Lloyd or any other school! If the principal can't attend he or she makes certain another member of faculty does. Its that simple

I'll second that... great post.

If you haven't been to a game yourself how can you have an opinion on how they act. Once again I am not saying they are angels, but we have people on here bashing that have not been to a game  I also completely agree that administration should be at these games.

I never said that I went to a game, just said I heard. Nothing more. I don't have an opinion on them, just saying what I've heard.

Look at post #14 by wideopen. He was at the game and he even said that not everyone who watches Lloyd is like that and no one else has said that either. All we have ever said was that the student section was.

So I dont see where you find that anyone has attacked the whole school and community like you just said. When the only thing we have said is about the student section and how that needs to be fixed. Because we all know that there are ALOT of good fans of Lloyd who aren't in the student section who dont say the inappropriate comments like the student section.

So calm down buddy no one was attacking the whole Lloyd community, it was just the student section that we all were talking about.

If you want to start a thread about student sections please do so.Lets get this back to the game so we dont have to close it.Thanks

Great game by Ludlow and LLoyd. King really set the momentum early and Penick did a great job keeping the momentum going. Some clutch shots by Chris Poe at the end of the game to keep Lloyd from coming back. I did like the Ludlow student sections chants of "That play won't work" (they were behind Lloyds bench) and "we've got Coach Brake" who coached at Lloyd as an assistant and played there through high school.

:thumb: Well its about time you all came up with some good cheers. I know the Lunactics have been kind of weak this year at the games I have been at because they would only say one cheer and stop. So what ever connection you have with the Lunactics make sure they get together in full force and actually cheer and help out the team when the regional tournament comes. :D

Was this a baseball game???
