Congrats to the Ludlow Panthers on advancing to the regional tourny. Looks like Penick and King did what they had to. When was the last time Ludlow made the regional?

Not sure at the moment.. It has certainly been awhile. Late 90's I believe and they got beat by Scott if I'm not mistaken..

Coach Highfield has his team playing great basketball at the right time. Congrats to all Panther players and coaches.

Great win tonight by the Panthers. Also Congrats to the Panthers and Coach Highfield and staff on making the region for the first time in awhile. I wish you all the best of luck in the district championship and in the region!

GO PANTHERS!!!

:ylsuper: It was a very exciting game that was close all the way unitl the end. Ludlow came out on top by hitting the shots that they needed to late in the ballgame. Congrats to all of the players, Coach Highfield, and his entire staff on a regional tournament berth. Hey BigZig what did u think of the officials and the Lloyd student section?

Was the Lloyd student section as bad as they were earlier in the season when Ludlow first played them because I was at that game and some of the stuff they said I thought was not approriate at all.

:ylsuper: The Lloyd student section is by far the worse that I have seen ever. They are vulgar, nasty, rude and not in the least bit funny or original in their cheering. Honestly I don't think they were cheering I just think they were trying to see how many obscene jesters they could fit into one evening. They are an embarassment to their school and the only thing worse then their behavior is that at no time did I see anyone (administrator) from their school ever come over and try to get them to act properly. There is a proper way for students to act at a game and still have fun. Many schools do it in good taste. The people in charge are the ones who ultimately are to blame and Lloyd administrators you have failed miserably and you should be ashamed.

The juggs played a heck of a ballgame last night just came up a little short. King really hurt them in the first half and Pennick got his as everyone knew he would. Lloyd just didn't hit any shots in the second half, which is a credit to the Panthers and fatigue on Lloyd's part. I thought it was a hard fought game and wished the outcome was different. As for the officiating it they weren't bad for the most part, mid-way through the 4th it seemed Ludlow got the close ones and Lloyd didn't. It wasn't a determining factor, but you like to see consistency. I think lloyd was playing on fumes in the 4th, and johnson played hurt the whole game getting injured ealry in the 1st. My hats off to Lloyd for over coming a lot of adversity that faced that group this season. Irresponsible kids quitting and getting kicked off the team really made this a tough year for that group. Hats off to the coaching staff as well for doing the best they could under those circumstances. Congratulations on a hard fought game, and look forward to next season.

As for the student section, that was the biggest group I have seen for Lloyd all season. I am not an advocate of obscene gestures or anything of that nature, but if you don't like what they are saying don't pay attention. Watch the game. When you atart focusing on what they are saying then you might get upset. They were chearing back and forth with the Ludlow students and seem to be into the game. No one mentions the fact that the Ludlow cheerleaders were basically in Lloyd's huddle during the Girls and Boys games. The coaches had to go tell the officials to keep them away from the huddles. Sometimes kids will be kids and they are having a good time. THey shouldn't curse or make obscene gestures. Maybe Lloyd administrators weren't there, so the host school has to keep that in check.

Easier said than done when there are a good deal of younger children and also elders in attendance.

:thumb: That is the second time now this year atleast when Ludlow has played them that Lloyd student section acted like that. I would have thought that maybe that problem would have been addresed by now, but I guess not.

I haven't heard any other schools on here get upset about the Lloyd student section. Maybe the Ludlow faithful are more sensitive that everyone else.

:thumb: I totally agree with you, BigZig. I would expect it from some of the other teams that we play, especially teams in our conference, but not from Lloyd. I thought that they had more class than that. I guess I thought wrong. I'm not saying that everyone who watches Lloyd isn't classy, just the students that were in that cheering section.

There is a difference when a Lloyd student comes over to Ludlow's student section and starts to say inappropriate things to them. Also when Lloyd's cheering section says something about meeting them at half court after the game and then when the game ends, while players are still on the court, they all go to half court and stand. That does give us a little bit to be upset about.
