April 18, 201412 yr If your leaving out # of Championships to the discussion between NBA Greats somebody better go dig Wilt up and tell him it's been settled and he is the GOAT. I'm not disagreeing with leaving them out but, every NBA discussion of GOAT always comes back to titles on BGP. Wilt won two NBA titles. 1967 with Philadelphia. I think set the record for most wins in a season until his '72 LA Laker team broke the record. Not to mention his pathway went through Boston on the greatest run in NBA history.

Not to mention his pathway went through Boston on the greatest run in NBA history. I know, I think Wilt is the GOAT...but many always knock him down based on lack of titles compared to Russell. My point was if, as Clyde suggested, we don't look at titles won...then IMO Wilt is the runaway winner of GOAT.

The NBA's expansion over the years between each player's prime watered down the talent pool too though. Bird played on much better teams and against much better teams. Dirk played on worse teams and in an era where the majority of the teams in the league were watered down on talent but the upper echelon (i.e. champions/contenders) had some 2 superstars or 1 superstar and a really, really solid supporting cast.

Nash is a prima dona who took Jason Kids blue print and literally ran w it. He is a good player, but the fact that he has 2 MVPS over Duncan and Kobe in their primes makes me cry a tear in my beer.

Nash was a fist fight away from taking a Suns team past the Lakers which could have meant a real shot at a title. Nash was extremely good. The man made D'Antoni look good for goodness sake.
