Great game! HC won the first half but CCH dominated the third quarter pretty much & HC just couldn't get back in. CCH big men didn't hurt HC like I thought they would. Tierney & Jacobs killed HC off the dribble although Laible did a good job defensively when he was in. CCH forced Busse & Lantry to take the threes in the 4th quarter and really covered up Steenken, Ryan & Sorrell. The stratagy worked well as those two were struggling from beyond the arc. I thought Sorrell gave the Indians a lift when he came in with HC down 37-30. He took it to the basket two straight times, got fouled & hit all 4 free throws. I was surprised he didn't play more down the stretch.

Whenever HC would get up 4 or 6 points, Bovard would come down & hit a big three. I think he did that 3 times. When CCH made their run in the 3rd quarter, Tierney hit two straight unbelievable reverses.

Congratulations to both teams! Good luck CCH. HC was definitely worthy of a regional berth, just a shame they had to play the top team first.

BTW, Erik Goetz did a great job this year as a rookie coach. He has my vote for coach of the year!

It is indeed a shame when the two best teams in the Region (that is what the coaches said they were in the last poll) play in the first round of the Tournament, and one has to lose.

4 might be a little early even though it's a bigger game as far as getting a trophy is concerned. Might be more like 6 or 615. I doubt the line will be as long as the one tonight.

Gee cshs81, HC kicked you out of the gym? I thought for sure that you would stay in the gym to get a great seat to see NDA play Beechwood tommorrow evening

 

Really, now that HC is out of it, has any though been give to moving this game, so more can see it? Say TMC, or even Northern if neither are playing Friday night?

As a Cov Cath fan, i thought it was a great game. Both teams played very well, CovCath j/ had a longer run and played better for longer. Great Year HC. Not many believers at the beginning of the year but what a year. For all the talk earlier though of how good sorrell is, he didnt impress me at all tonight. Made 4 free throws, i expected more. Great game. Good student section as well

Congratulations to th Colonels. I got there early at 5:00 and there were about 75 CovCath students that was impressive! #3 and # 15 were huge for CovCath, but they were the guards, I thought CovCath's inside guys played too soft tonight and didn't finish well! That will hurt them down the line if they play soft like that again!

CCH had 18 assists and only 4 turnovers.

Colonel big guys didn't score much tonight but I thought they did a great job of picking and boxing out. TJ had 8 rebounds!

 

Also the big 3 of TJ, Timmy, and Bo scored all of CovCath's points in the 2nd half, which I'm sure will be all over all of the coverage of High School Basketball tommorow. You can look at it one of two ways- depending too much on the guards, or three guys stepping up when CCH needed it most.

If you watched warmups, you could see Bo was feeling it from deep.

Schult did a great job of rebounding and Young did a good job complimenting him. Mainly on the defensive end, those are the most important.

CovCath Crazies did an outstanding job BTW. They were there real early.
