Richie Farmer assigned to prison in West Virginia

Featured Replies

I wonder if I can get his State tournament tickets this year. He always had prime seats.

I'm sure he'll be in the minimum security camp next to the prison

Something that I thought was funny when I read it in the article Jumper_Dad noted:

"The prison system has assigned Farmer inmate number 16226-032, which will be worn on his prison jump suit.

Farmer's jersey number while playing for the Wildcats was 32."

I know there was young man named Farmer who played for one of the SE Ky. teams. If that was Richie's son, Richie stayed out long enough to watch his son play post-season.

Yes, that it his son who plays for Clay Co. Sad thing is, if Richie would have done his duties like he was supposed to do, he could be watching him play in Rupp arena next week.

Yes, here is a picture of the two of them. n29SG.AuSt_.79.jpg

Lil' Richie came out of the womb with a 5 o'clock shadow and produced that level of growth by age 4.

I was never a huge Richie fan, even while he was playing at UK, and he has certainly made his own bed. But a part of me feels bad that he won't get to watch his son on the biggest stage in Kentucky high school basketball. This should be a heartwarming story, and to a small degree I suppose it is, but it's mostly just a sad story IMO.

How old is his son? Is he a key player?

I believe he is a sophomore. Yes. He is a key player.

I hate it for the whole family and my feelings are like yours. Maybe he'll get out on good behavior in time for his son's senior season.

This.

All five Clay County starters average double figures. Farmer is one of them.

Just read an article that Richie/lawyers asked a federal judge yesterday to delay his reporting date to March 25th.

Rather than just delay his reporting date, should have offered to increase his sentence a few more months if he could attend State Tournament. Would have had a better chance!!
