Over the last two seasons, Ballard has averaged about 85 points per game. In their four games vs. Trinity in that span, Ballard averaged just over 56. Trinity makes it tough to score, even for Ballard.

Ballard wins the 7th Region and the Sweet Sixteen Tuesday.

This game should be fun. I agree that no points will come easy. When PRP beat Ballard in the LIT final, Snider was something like 0-12 on three-point shooting. While a similar performance likely would fatal to Ballard, its hard to believe he will have another night like that. Perhaps the key will be whether Jax Levitch can provide some outside offense for Trinity. In the end, I suspect it will come down to what close games often come down to - turnovers and free throw shooting. And with high school teams, even two really, really good high school teams, who knows which team those factors will favor.

Maybe you're reading too much into that last name Levitch makes little to no impact in games. While he does not in any way have negative impacts on games, he's in now way an impact player of any sort.

T needs to get a good game out of Ivory and Owens to have a chance.

I think this is usually true when the Shamrocks are at their best. It's mostly a function of defense and rebounding for Trinity's three top players. With Spalding doing his best on anything near the rim, Owens is going to have to stick on Perry/Dow and make sure they don't grab anything easy for Ballard.

I agree that he likely won't be the difference. I said "perhaps" because he could be the difference if he has a game like he had against St. X in the opening round of the regional (3 out of 4 3's). Points will be hard to come by and production from the outside would be a big plus for Trinity.

Levitch can knock down 3 from long range. I just believe Trinity's system goes through Ivory, Spalding , and Owens. If Levitch was playing for any other team (for example, North Oldham), he would be averaging double figures easily. Trinity game plan is defense and feed Spalding on offense to create opportunities for others to score.

How many coaches are required to coach Ballard? I counted EIGHT today. Eight coaches and twelve players.

I agree with you, its about that way with every school,,,but I still do not think it should be that way..I will go with Trinity by 3..........

He did make 3 of 4 threes but on three straight possessions at the end of the second quarter he failed to rotate on defense leading to six straight points from layups for X. As another poster said dont get caught up in the last name. Every minute Levitch takes away from the Ramser kid is a negative for Trinity. And for someone saying Levitch doesnt have a negative impact on games, I would say his four turnovers against Manual were a big negative.

Where is the 7th Region Final held?

Valley High School

I think the same question could be asked of Trinity & St. X football...how many coaches do you need?
Male under Redman always had an entourage.

Missed free throws will doom the Rocks in this tussle. Trinity will probably be the #1 team when 2014-15 rolls around.

I agree... on both counts.

I believe Ballard is only losing 3 players from this year squad. Q is a big lose, but there backup point guard should be able to step in well after a year of experience.

Missed free throws cost Trinity the game in the LIT.

By the way, Trinity grad Nathan Dieudonne starts for Boston University as his team will play American U. tomorrow for the Patriot League championship and an NCAA berth. The Terriers won the regular season championship.
