Interesting. Conner practiced at the Cintas Center tonight to get comfortable with a bigger court and shooting background. Look at Hicks pulling some strings!!

Thank you Sir. I always enjoy reading your posts, you always find a way to be nice to people, even when disagreeing.

Hemmerich and Lamblez have been tough lately, coming from way behind to beat Cooper. I'm going for the upset. Connor by 3.

Welcome to BGP, KYHOOPSTER! Hope you are enjoying it so far.

Wouldn't this be a recruiting violation?

Wouldn't this be a recruiting violation?

Other teams have practiced at Xavier the last couple of years. I know they had to pay a rental fee, I assume Conner did too.

What is the rule then that prevents High School players from being allowed to play (and I thought practice / workout) on a college campus. UC was not allowed to host the AAU tourney the past couple of years because of this rule.

I thought it counts as a recruiting visit? No?

If this would count as a recruiting visit, then what about other teams in NKY playing regular season games on college courts? Wouldn't this constitute the same violation you speak of? I'm sure if it was indeed a violation, Coach Hicks would not have done it.

No showcase put on by event organizers is allowed to be held on a D1 campus. I think that is the only rule

Someone correct me if im wrong.

I'm just trying to better understand the rule. Hopefully someone can/will clarify.

Here is a rule I found... is this outdated?

The NCAA rule in question is Bylaw 13.11.1.8, passed in April. It forbids an NCAA member institution from hosting a “nonscholastic basketball practice or competition in which men’s basketball prospective student-athletes … participate on its campus or at an off-campus facility regularly used by the institution for practice and/or competition by any of the institution’s sport programs.”

This is from an article from 2011: http://www.forbes.com/sites/bobcook/2011/12/09/ncaa-kicks-high-school-basketball-tournaments-off-its-campuses/

I don't know the specifics of the rule, but teams have used college floors to prepare for the Regional as well as the State Tourney for a while.
