It would not be the first time they have beat them 8+. I am not saying that Wayne will beat them 8+, cause I dont think they are gonna get to Wayne. They have a tougher first round game than I think they realize( I full well know the previous scores) and SW is a matchup nightmare for them. Taylor struggles with being closely guarded and SW has a PG that is quicker than Taylor and a pretty good defender. Taylor struggled against Perkins at Wayne and got so frustrated he got is infamous 2 game suspension for the cheap shot on Woods, so his pressure meter is not very high and most coaches in region know it. Look for it to be tested. :thumb:

 

Also he did struggle against Wayne, 12 points, 11 assist, 2 steals, 2/2 from 3 point range must have really got in his head, at Wayne down 3 with the ball, and a minute to go, he got ejected live and learn, yes he has, struggle against them no he didn't...thanx Archie food for thought...

Must have done something to get suspended for 2 games. I'm not denying that Taylor is one of the top PG in the state. He makes u pay for every mistake a defender makes. I still don't knw why people try to reach and steal the ball from him. Your not going to steal the rock from him. Just move your feet and stay in front of him and make him a scorer. When he gets in the lane he is looking to pass not score. IMO that's what makes him a great PG. He is always looking for his teammates. His weakness is his shooting ability. He is a decent shooter but I would take my chances with him shooting the ball instead of racking up assist after assist. The knock on him from everybody in the region is his attitude and he is known to take quite a few cheap shots and talk alot of trash. Saying that I do believe you have to play with a little attitude on the court and everybody talks a little smack but there's no place for cheap shots. I mean no disrespect to the kid bc he is one of the best PG to come thru the 12th region in a long time

You don't know as much as you think, timmy wasn't frustrated at all against Wayne, he put woods on his backside taking up for his team mate, which woods had in a head lock under the basket....the play before!! As far as who wins, both teams have a long road to travel.....

 

That is not the only instance of this player getting in fights and taking cheap shots. There is a video of You Tube of him hitting a player between the legs and he also got in a fight during his AAU season. Good ball player...but as many coaches has said...his attitude will hurt him getting to next level.

I dont know who keeps those stats but I never saw 11 assists that game. Anyone was at that game saw what happened and anyone who knows Woods knows he has never had anyone in his life in a headlock. the stats are done by our stat guy, as far as cheap shots goes like I said, I don't like it, but if you have played any sport at all you know what goes on, it's not always seen, he just got caught....our team and individual stats are on max preps...and bc23 Hagen doesn't get the credit he deserves, he can flat out score that's for sure

Really? Does the same apply to the crooks on Wall Street or the guys peddling drugs? What an ignorant statement to be used in the defense of playing the game dirty. Better to say nothing to put that kind of defense forward. Wonder if the officials who will be calling the Region will read this and decide that they'd better keep an eye on this kid?

 

The young man is an excellent player. You would be better off to leave the defense of what is indefensible out of your efforts to support him.

Maybe the Taylor boy can play football next year. Then he can hit people legally. But for the record he probably would not want to face the boyle qb whom he cheap shotted on the court.especially since the Robbins kid looks to be twice as strong from lookin at these guys on the court. I heard the Robbins kid is a good guy, good thing for taylor.

Unquestionably the biggest question mark of the first round is the Boyle County/West Jessamine contest. Boyle has proven itself as a excellent team throughout the season whereas West Jessamine was thought to be one of the top teams coming into the season but went through a stretch where they lost 7 of 11 games, yet you can't discount their talent. Whichever emerges from this game will be dangerous.

 

Assuming your choices are correct for the first round of play (which are all locks according to the rankings with the exception of the Boyle/W-Jess game), it would mean two semi-final games in which neither of the teams has played each other this season (due to weather cancellations that were never made up). A "learning experience" for all concerned and more difficult to predict with no history of having previously faced off against each other and the games being played on a neutral court with non-12th Region officials.

The Boyle /West Jess game was the hardest to pick.

Boyle shouldn't have a problem defeating West by 6-8 points.

Boyle did win by 8 at West a couple weeks ago and should be the favorite. I think it will be the closest of the first round games, though.
