Campbell County 65 Scott 62 (37th District Semis)

Featured Replies

Wilson dominated things late in the game. I thought he was the big difference maker.

I picked Scott to win this and thought they might blow out Campbell early on. The 3's by Omer that put them up 10 in the first. I just thought Scott might blow them out. You have to hand it to the Camels for coming back and then taking the lead and then holding on to the lead.

Congratulations to the Camels, Wilson and Jackson were big factors in this win. Showin' Craig Neltner some love, when Wilson got in early foul trouble, Nelter came in and gave the Camels some good minutes.

Scott (62): Osborne 3 0 6, Jackson 2 1 6, Crim 8 3 19, Schneider 5 4 16, Ohmer 5 1 15. Totals 23 9 62.

Campbell County (65): Holbrook 5 1 12, Jackson 9 4 23, Wilson 9 2 20, McGovney 1 1 4, Losey 2 0 4, Neltner 1 0 2. Totals 27 8 65.

Halftime: Scott, 38-32. Three-point goals: S-Ohmer 4, Schneider 2, Jackson. CC-Holbrook, Jackson, McGovney. Records: Scott 8-21, Campbell County 17-8.

Russel did a great job keeping the Camels in the game tonight. They could have folded early. Great team win tonight. Thought Holbrook did a terrific job leading the camels tonight. Jackson and Wilson were big in the 4th quarter.Losey had a couple big plays and McGovney played a great floor game. Should be a good one Friday!

I'm pretty sure Ohmer averaged right around 4 three-pointers per game for the year. That's pretty impressive for a freshman on a good team.

First time ever Scott will not be in the regional tournament since joining the 10th Region. Made it 8 out 8 times till now. Made it to the region semifinals 6 out of those 8 years, including last years runner up appearance.

An impressive run considering the strength of the 37th.

Financial crisis in the Scott athletics office. Ken Mueller is going to have to find some way to offset $5,000 lost from the Eagles annual operating budget - lol!!!

Jackson and Wilson are rolling right now. And, if Holbrook is locked in, which I have to think he will be for a district championship... How does Brossart beat them? Can they stop all 3?

Along that line of thinking, How can anyone beat them???

The Scott matchups and the Brossart matchups are a bit different. Scott had Crim to attempt to neutralize Wilson. Didn't happen, Wilson is more mobile than is Crim. Brossart brings two athletic bigs to contest Wilson. With that said, Wilson got us for 17 last time out. We will have to do a better job on him this time around.

Jackson, who is obviously a whole different confident free-lancing scorer now that when we saw him the last time, is a concern. In January we held him to 3. It is totally unreasonable to expect to duplicate that effort here in the sequel. As always, we will bank on our defense, and see where it takes us.

Anytime these two teams get together it is always a war, I expect nothing less this go-round.

Love Crim.

Will miss seeing him in the region. On the other hand, the Jackson kid from CC is the real deal, he can put on a show

I agree, I've been watching the 10th for just about the same amount of time. Seems every year Scott has made a game winning shot, won the coin flip to get the bye or pulled off some other big time play. They are well coached and driven hard. They have produced a lot of great athletes in that program. Kellen Smith and Nick Jackson have been among the most recent. I'm sure coach Carr and staff will have them back in the hunt next year.

Congrats to the Camels on a tough win. Kids played hard and battled to get back into the game after a slow start. Coach Carr had his team ready to play as always. Thought the big difference was much better defense by Camels in 2nd half. You can't give up 24 points in the 1st quarter, or any quarter. Several times in the opening quarter Campbell County just lost track of Ohmer and Schneider for wide open 3s. Camels did a much better job the rest of game. Schneider being in foul trouble hurt Scott; he's a difference maker. And Crim was a beast on the boards. Dre Jackson is nearly unstoppable in the open court and continues to WOW. Matt Wilson was solid inside. IF the Camels continue to play together as a TEAM and not try to do too much individually and play solid defense they will do very well. Big win for the Camels.

For those that were there, any thoughts on the officiating crew?

Agree with everything you posted. For me a big difference in the game was when Schneider got in foul trouble. Kid can play, he was penetrating and getting to the rim and getting Ohmer wide open looks. When Schneider was out they looked out of sync. Thought Dre Jackson was outstanding, smooth player with a nasty cross over. Matt Wilson was a force on the inside, kid has worked his tail off and it shows in his play. As far as the officials? I thought they let the kids play a physical game which I prefer. Rather see that than a whistle fest and 60 free throws like in the girls game on Tuesday.

Just curious, did not see Ohmer play this year. But when Campbell County played him in 7th grade we shut him down. We put our best defender on him and played tight on him the whole game. Jake actually fouled out of the game. I think he might have had a couple of offensive fouls.

We have done the same to him in years past, I was impressed with him this year, he seams to be learning to keep his cool, when he does mature he will be very tough.

Good job to the Camels Coaching Staff. Good rotation of players and keeping there team confident the entire game. Great job last night with Craig Neltner coming off the bench big to fill in for Wilson! On top of Jackson and Wilson great game, how many assist did Cory Holbrook have? 4-4 from the field and at least 8 to 10 assist. Good Team Victory!

Hat's off to Brad Carr. Never count this guy out!
