Randy Parker Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Blake Schneider 3 to tie blocked by Dre Jackson, per Richard Skinner.
mcpapa Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I think we all knew that the records could be thrown out the window here - it was going to be a tight one.
Big Fundamental Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Over the course of the year, Deondre Jackson has quickly become the man for this team. He has silently become a leader with great court presence and a player that can score from multiple levels. He also doesn't shy away from getting some really good teammates involved. With Jackson, Holbrook, and Wilson firing on all cylinders, this team could make a little run. Good luck to the Camels! Also, have to think Jackson and Wilson will be ready for the Mustangs this go round....
Mustang Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Scott was on fire early, running out to a 24-13 first quarter lead. Schneider got in foul trouble in the second period, as did Wilson from Campbell County. Camels cut into the lead 38-32 at the half. Another 12-7 Camels advantage in the third quarter narrowed the margain to 45-44 with Scott clinging to a one-point lead, which was erased on the first play of the fourth quarter as Jackson took it to the rack and scored. Wilson scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter. Schneider answered with 8 of his 15 in the same frame. Jackson - 23, Wilson - 20, Holbrook - 12 for Campbell. Crim - 19, Ohmer -15, Schneider - 15 for Scott. A hard fought game with lots of physical play. Campbell advances to the 37th District finals Friday night vs Brossart, and punch their ticket to the 10th Region Tournament.

Big Fundamental Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Jackson and Wilson are rolling right now. And, if Holbrook is locked in, which I have to think he will be for a district championship... How does Brossart beat them? Can they stop all 3? I know it's a rivalry, and I know Brossart beat them handily much earlier this year, but have to wonder if this one will be closer and more competitive.... Has Russell won a district since his tenure at CC?
Sports Fan1230 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Schneider got 3 fouls early, did not play much of the 2nd quarter. Crim stood out tonight he had 19 pts. And 19 Rebs.

Randy Parker Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Sounds like this one was as hotly contested as most thought it would be. Congrats to Coach Russell & the Camels on advancing. :thumb: Always going to be a good team left out of the Regional Tournament from the 37th.

theoldveteran Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 CC won district 2 years ago when Nate McGovney was a junior. Per KHSAA Riherds Scoreboard Coach Russell and the Camels won the district in 11-12. The last time they won district prior to 11-12 was 01-02 and over the course of those 10 years Campbell was ousted in the first game 6 of those 10 years.
Sports Fan1230 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 First time in a long time Scott won't be playing in the 10th Region Tournament.
