Great game last night! A little worried when it started out 20 - 5 but the boys really stepped up, especially the senior leadership of Burns and Trentman. Burns was an absolute beast last night!

Watched Jake Jennings doing a little shoot around during JV halftime and before varsity game. Looks to me like Jake will be back very soon judging by the way he was able to dribble and shoot. Happy to see him healed!

Loved the Senior night presentation as well. Great group of kids and I'm so proud of each of them having watched 4 of the 6 grow from boys to young men throughout their basketball careers.

Heard I got a shout out in Mustang's JV game broadcast! I've made the big time, folks! :thumb:

Sounded like a packed house last night.

Burns truly "possessed" on the night .. virtually unstoppable.

Play of the game .. first possession of the second half, down 32-30, Hackworth misses a shot, Burns does his best Superman effort diving for the errant rebound heading out of bounds, and while parallel to the floor, flips the ball left-handed to Rieger in front of Mustangs bench for a 3-ball, and a 33-32 BBHS lead. Next possession, Rieger works his way from weak-side under the basket for another cool 3-ball, and the Mustangs never looked back.

Goes without saying .. Mustangs don't win that game without Burns' herculean efforts on both ends of the courts. His athleticism, motor and never-die effort are a joy to watch.

A Quallity Win For Our Mustangs.

I was singing my praises of him before the season even started to some 10th region fans.

Thanks!!!! Any rebounding stats?

Shannon 1

Rieger, Kramer 3

Hackworth 4

Trentman 7

Burns 9

Sorry, I no longer have Mason Stats.

Shawn Johnson had 13 boards, but his are the only Mason County rebounding numbers I saw.

Great guy. He actually went up to Sr. night festivities for pizza, cake and cookies. We talked about things such as lack of coverage for the 10th. He was saying how he loves to interview kids and would love to use the descriptions he has in his mind to describe kids, but it just would not translate well into game reports. I actually read the game report the minute after it went to press. He was also curious as to how the Trentman kid got his height with such a short fat old man!
