All those #s prove is that Bailey is better than Arroyo, thus he should be making more....

Chances are BAs #s will be worse and Homers better considering recent trends.

Bowden just tweeted out that Homer and the Reds are on the "1 yard line"....

Looks like it's going to get done. Consider me impressed. Didn't think they had the funds to make it happen.

Great, so it's not happening. :D

Latos is going to get 150 million plus if he stays on track. Homer or not, I don't see the Reds going that high...

I think you're right. I think they had/have a plan in place, but I don't see how they can compete with the type of money the big market teams are throwing at pitchers...

Assuming Latos gets a contract that the Reds cannot match, it makes Homer much more important.

Obviously Latos is the guy you'd want of the two long term, but what you want and reality are often two different animals. I'm not a huge David H Bailey fan, but the deal makes sense...

Bailey is in Goodyear today and not Florida (arbitration hearing) so it is expected an announcement will come soon.

It's done...

Bailey agrees to terms on contract « Mark My Word

A source has told MLB.com that Reds pitcher Homer Bailey has agreed to a six-year, $105 million contract with the club on Wednesday to avoid arbitration. It comes with a mutual option for a seventh year worth $25 million with a $5 million buyout.

So basically, a minimum of $110M over 6 years, with the potential to be $130M over 7 years.

Not a bad little contract for Homer.

100 mill means your good. Below 100 means your serviceable in today's baseball.

Good signing. Castellini continues to show his commitment to winning. I expect Bailey to have a breakout year.

This is a contingency plan incase they can't resign Latos. Don't know if I agree with the dollars but it's not a bad idea
